My game is crashing quite often now

I think the headline talk it clearly. My game is crashing now quite often and I can say it never crashed so frequently as now. I haven't got the slightest idea why it would be crashing. We know there are some crashes in the game, but we have been unable to figure out why so far. Could you elaborate on when these crashes occur? What were you doing at the time?

Pieter I played all the day yesterday and the game crashed me about 7 times. It isn´t nothing too horrible except it happens to me mainly in the course of battles on the see. I fight quite long time and capture two ships and suddenly game is off in Windows and some remark will appear some error in engine.exe appeared. Today my game crashed only 2 times I think. But still it isn´t so bad in order to be objective. And the playing still entertain me despite of some difficulties. But maybe it´s still the most stable version last time. You know, I didn´t play PoTC for some time now, so, I can´t asses this well. But Build 12.1 did´t crash me at all. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

I continue. Just now my computer froze in the course of plain sailing after my setting out from Greenfort.

And just my game crashed anew in the course of great battle with 5 pirates ships and concretely in the course of my chasing pirate frigate because of the error in engine.exe. A lost everything that I achieved in the battle. Quite unpleasant, really.

There's a crash that happens at the top of the hour (game time) when you're sailing that I'm still trying to track down. It may have to do with the surrender checking, but I've put debug traces in there that show it completing.

The crash doesn't happen every time, and I haven't been able to determine what variables feed into it. My best guess is that there's a ship that's eligible to check surrender, whether one you're fighting or one someone else is that you can't see. Still working on it.

The main cause of crashes during battle that I've found is due to pressing F2 while in battle. I've learned just not to press it. I don't know if thats your problem or not. When I had the last crashing I restart the computer and now the crashing haven´t appear for some time.
