A few words about Seaward team...
Their first project was patch for Pirates Of The Carribean. It fixes too much akella's bugs, as simple on my computer POTC with latest akella's patch initiate "blue(death) screen" for my xp.
But they not stopped on patch and two years they worked on addon for POTC, but I can say that it is not addon, it's a full their own game based on Akella's engine "storm 2.0". They make mega game with their own roleplaying system. Their game is free, but you still need potc to play their game.

And now they are moving their game on "storm 2,5". Akella gives them all sources and they making a really good game without bugs and also storm 2,5 allows to make much more than 2,0. Sea Legend based on 2,5 will not be addon from akella, seaward team want's to release that game as their own product, akella will be publisher. And I really waiting for release of that game!

What I would like to know is if Akella was willing to hand the sources to Storm 2.5 to one modding group, why not be willing to make it available to the general modding community. It would allow for even greater mods to come over the years.
My other frustration with this is that the SLiB version for Age of Pirates will NOT be available to english speaking countries from what I've heard.
That is just not cool. Something that looks that good and adds so much of what SHOULD have been in the game in the first place should be made available to ALL PEOPLE that have PURCHASED the game in the first place.

And what about addon? Akella makes their own addon "Age of Pirates : Deads Man Chest". It will be released on 2007/02/15. And I think that addon will be released only in Russia, because here people can buy that trash twice. Also in my opinion akella must work now on patch for AOP and not on addon

Again, just like you, I feel Akella should be concentrating on patching the existing game. NOT building up a fleet of add-ons before the original game is even working right or even doing everything that all they're loyal fans thought it was going to be.
Anything that Akella does as an 'Add-on' for Age of Pirates should be considered as something that SHOULD have been in the game in the first damned place right now. They as a company should consider the amount of clout and respect they have recently lost in the gaming and modding communities.
Then to add salt to wounds already opened, I'm hearing you say that Akella doesn't even intend to release this 'Add-on' to any other language than Russian. That will damage an already marred name in the rest of the gaming and modding world further. It would be a mistake unheard of since the days of 8-bit and 16-bit computer games.
I for one, feel that AOP:CT should have not just brought a new engine to the mix, then take away EVERYTHING that made PotC feel so complete and such a joy to mod for. It should have EXPANDED the game world, given us more to do, more to play and been as close to totally crash free as it could be. It should NOT have SHRUNK the game world(removal of enterable buildings, jungle areas and more) and removed things that could be opened and manipulated(like boxes and such).
There was something of an expectation for Age of Pirates to be MORE AND BETTER than PotC. Akella failed at that badly this time.
I've come to expect some of the best Age of Sail games around from them. They really need to get this game fixed and added to or they have lost a LOT of respect from MANY fans all over the world.
Age of Pirates has the potential to be one of the best Pirating games of all time. I would just like to see this game really reach that potential for ANYONE that has purchased it.

Anyway I'm still waiting for sea legend, because I played it on storm 2.0 and I know that seaward team make really perfect game!

I think all of us are waiting impatiently for this release from the SLiB team. Just that those of us in any non-russian language country are waiting with baited breath hoping that there will be localized versions made available.
