Solved Mysterious coin.

Open a chest and there's this mysterious coin. Now I've done a search on the forum and I see reference to one that curses you. I also remember talk a few years back about Aztec coins. Are they 2 different things or one and the same. I thought the Aztec coins were to do with a hidden temple or something.

Anyways what I'm looking at is the same visually as the spinning coin in the loading animation. Is it the cursed coin?

It is the cursed Aztec coin.

If you keep it your ship will slowly appear cursed - sails torn & lots of fog around it. - Also at night you and your crew will become skeletons. and the crew moral will be affected.

To get rid of the curse - you must put the coin in the chest on the Isle de Muerte.

To make the Isle de Muerta appear on the World Map

Get the special compass from Mr Gibbs in the Tortuga Tavern - then you should see a small coin on the world map -west of Aruba
