Ahoy Matey,

I start the game under the English flag. I take few random trader, governor and escort missions... I take a while for each mission and I completed all over the duty time, but I completed all the mission I taken, and for trader I pay a fine.

While I run the mission I capture many Spanish and Pirate ships.

After all my relation with English is warring; with Spanish are neutral!

It seems a bug. Moreover that relation seems not have any consequence in the game, because I can enter in all English ports without problem, when Spanish shots on me... The same with the ships...

My individial reputation is hero.

Anybody experience the same problem?

bye, bye,

I don't think it's a bug but it's funny how the whole relationship works.

For instance, (from my observations) ...

If your home Nation is English and you are nuetral or friendly with Spain and you attack Spanish ships(port) with an English flag you will take a negative relationship with England, not Spain.
So, to make Spanish national relations drop (and keep English relations the same) you have to raise a flag that is hostile to Spain.
Perhaps raising the Jolly Roger all the time may help keep your home relations from dropping.

Does anyone else agree on this logic because I'm thinking there may be more to it.

Buying an english patent in a pirate tavern would also solve this, correct?

Yes ... in his current situation the English Patent "may" allow him to moor at an English port without being shot at.

However, one variable in the whole thing may also help ... his STEALTH skill. He may be able to fool the English by flying a flag that's FRIENDLY to the English and moor at an English port. Obviously, in his present situation, flying his national color (English) is getting him into trouble because that marks him as his true identity.

My experience with the STEALTH skill only shows that it's impossible (albeit maybe more difficult) to fool a nation if that nation is hostile to your home nation. An example ... I'm Dutch and the only nation hostile to Dutch is England ... I have yet been able to fool England (depsite my personal relations being neutral) except by having an English Patent.

Perhaps anyone out there can help some more by giving their examples ... more specifically, an exact example of what is going on and a known remedy.

With regards to being a bug ... I dunno ... It all seems kind of logical as to what's going on, at least in my mind.
