Need a hint

Buccanero

Sailor Apprentice
Hi, heroes of the high seas, i have translated most of the dialogs, which are not changed with built 10.1 for german language and put it in my game.

But there are 3 dialogs i can't find. :gday

1. Dialog with Malcolm for changing clothes
2. Dialog for dividing the plunder (usurer)
3. Officer dialog for changing colors, clothes, sign articles etc.

Any hint for me? Thx

I believe that these dialogs are in the both_reaction.c and quests_reaction.c files that can be found in the PROGRAMQUESTS folder.
:gday

Buccanero, when you are finished with the translation would it be possible for you to send it to wallace@piratesahoy.net so i can put it up for download? Im sure there would be a few who would like it

Y'know that thing that feeds the wife and kidlettes, pays the mortgage, gives the car `go-juice`...work. :gday

Are you sure that you have checked all of the Dialog files?
Dialog is always in the Dialog files that there is some in the quest files. I'm almost certain that it can't appear elsewhere.

I suggest that you double check the dialog files as it is there somewhere.

Ahoy, Buccanero, and welcome aboard! Pull up a keg, have a seat, and have a couple on us! :)

Wow, what a useful thing to do, Buccanero, and so timely! There's another German who's just asked about the game, he's posted in the Technical Forum - his name is Humsi82. He's not very conversant in English, and I think he'd be greatly interested in your project as (I think) he made a comment about being frustrated that the dialogs in POTC are all in English.

As for your dialog files, all of the dialog files are in the POTCPROGRAMDIALOG folder - And the dialogs you are looking for are

1.) Malcom Hatcher_dialog.c (not h)
2.) Usurer_dialog.c (not h)
3.) Enc_Officer_dialog.c (not h)

Typically with any of these mods if you can't find the dialog in the .h file, it's in the .c file - it's easier to write the dialog this way.

Hope this helps! :gday xD:

 boah...Catalina, without your help i would have find it at cristmas................2005 :woot . I never would suppose it there. Thx

Great work you're doing!

Note that there are other dialogs that are in the c files as well. Off the top of my head Patric Cardones, and, um, Arnaud Matton? And what's his name the quartermaster...`B-something` Coffier.

Oh, and you'll want to peek at Dialog_func.c as IIRC there are some terms there that need translation (the difficulty names, and the officer type names).

Eventually we'll go back and put all those in the H files though...

Cool Nathan, thanks for the extra info!

Yes, Buccanero - I see you found Humsi - great! I am sure there will be many German players who will appreciate your hard work! :p: :p:

hi, everyone,

sure there´ll be some germans appreciate his work... i m one of his fans (and his nightmare due to my emails <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />)

without his mod, `build-mod` made me crazy: half german - half english.
