Need a Little Help

Being a noob at most mods concerning POTC, i've finally been dragged kicking & screaming to download the pre13 build. The game loads perfectly fine, but I'm unable to initate any conversation what so ever and can't get out of the ship at the start, unless I kill Malcolm. Any thoughts on what I must do to get it to work properly? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The spacebar works to initiate action, such as opening doors and such, but when I walk up to other characters I press spacebar and nothing at all, no street merchants, nothing.

try and see if when you hit enter you can choose the action "talk"
in my game I have spacebar mapped to initiate action but it wont initate any action other than talk and I have to use the enter method for doing all actions... so I guess its possible that in your game it wont even work for talk and you might have to use enter for everything. I hope this helps you.

Going the long way around by pressing enter and selecting the option doesn't work either. Am I missing a file or two?

Are you sure you installed everything correctly? Follow the instructions from the Downloads page on my site.

Sounds like a bad install to me. Re-install following Pieter's instructions and let us know how you go.

Finally got pre 13 loaded and working after loading it in stages and making sure the game worked at each step
