Though the video flicker problem is not the only ATI problem... I had to switch to omega drivers to get rid of annoying hangups. Anybody knows whether this is also (accidentally) fixed with this new driver?

As an Omega user for 3 years, I had to switch to ATi's official driver to stop any hangups. I think that in reality certain system files must have been corrupted and installing either Omega or ATi replaces them.. swings and roundabouts. I wouldn't say that using Omega drivers is a generic solution for hangups, as I can now use either driver without problems.

But to answer your question, there's nothing in the readme regarding a fix for hangups. Did you report the problem to ATi? If they don't know about it, they can't fix it.

These new drivers have unfortunately done nothing for my system <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> I still get horrible white flashing during the introductory cut scenes while anti aliasing is enabled. There's another thread where we have been trying to identify whats going on with this . . so far no success.

I've even upgraded the BLINK player. All the videos play fine through the player. Its only through the game the flashing occurs. Makes me think the problem isnt with the video drivers. . . . . .

On the good side the flashing doesnt effect the sword fights. However I'm worried there will be some ending cut scenes that will be messed up <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Same here, the new drivers haven't done a bloody thing.

With AA on, I still get the flickering video's.
I've posted on the ATi forums (others have replied stating the samething) and I've sent in a support request to their database.

Kinda bad that the video card brand that's advertised as running the game the best has issues with the intro sequence, you'd think they would of caught that.

I see there are new Catalysts out . . again. Now version 5.2. Guess we jump through these hoops once more . . sigh.

I cant try them until a few days. So if some one does first put yer post here!

ABOUT BLOODY TIME!

Well the Catalyst 5.2 drivers seem to have fixed the problems with my system . . . and all the multimedia (ie TV Capture) funtions of the AIW seem to be working.

Its nice that its fixed in the driver revision AFTER they claim its fixed. Me thinks they forgot to implement something and tried to sneak it out the door!

Hopefully it'll work for the rest of ya thats havin problems.

NOTE: I removed the old drivers via the windows control panel, and then installed the new ones. If your an AIW user all the Multimedia drivers are the same for the 5.1 so you dont need to remove any of those.

Good luck!
