There you go: Pieter doesn't know everything either. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" /><!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I have all the versions from the ftp and only now, with your post, realized that the clear window version was in there.

It is easy to overlook as following the path models\ships\theBlackPearl in the rar takes you to the opaque window version.

Anyway, I notice no wake/bow wave problem with either version.

Too bad the light/shadow problem hasn't been fixed yet.

Yeah I got no problem with the waves I do however have what looks like a pixel ie a vertice coming through the front of the ship but its so small I don't really care.

kazeite would be shocked if he'd hear that, i think. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

True.

The reversed lighting effect is caused by the exporting to GM by the Tool. You will notice the same effect in several other ships that have been made/modified in an external program and imported/exported using the Tool. Kazeite wants to fix it by figuring out how to export using Maya, but last thing I knew, he didn't know how to do it and needed help to figure it out. Help he seems to be unable to get. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

So all we actually need how to fix that reversed lighting effect is actually just importing/exporting with maya? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huhh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:k" border="0" alt="huhh.gif" />

In theory: yes. If only somebody could do it. We've got the PROGRAM, we've got the PLUG-IN, but we don't have the KNOWLEDGE! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

Speaking of which ...

I got both from the ftp, ... put the plug-in files in, and still don't see any ability to import or export *.gm files. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

I never installed the program, so I know nothing of it. Perhaps Kazeite does. You can try sending him a PM.

You can't import .gm files into Maya.

If you want to export ship from Maya into .gm format, you need to have <b>everything</b> prepared: ships hull, masts, rigging, and locators. Locators are tricky, since they need to be placed in specific hierarchy. Unfortunately, I don't know the hierarchy <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Is there any trace of that hierarchy left in the final exported GM file? And can we REALLY not contact them Russians or something? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

Final exported gm file gets split into pieces, remember that. I'll try to ask Russians for maya file containing their modifications of my <i>Pearl</i> - I mean, if they exported her via Maya, they must have such scene, with all necessary locators grouped in required hierarchy <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
