Blackadder,
I'd like a copy of the new map, can't find it on the ftp. Can you point me in the right direction?

Yours, &c.

There is no map of the new islands yet. There is only a map of the Russian islands, but those don't seem to be exactly the same at the new islands for Build 12. I don't know how to make a map either. I tried to make a screenshot from the top of the 3D map model, but it would take forever to move the camera high enough to get a proper overview, so I don't know how I could make a map. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Hey! COOL! Thanks a lot! I didn't know that. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

A simple map will be coming up soon, then! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Get them <a href="http://pieter.piratesahoy.net/downloads/new_islands.zip" target="_blank">here</a> (33,3 MB).
Please note: This mod is still highly unfinished and contains a rather large amount of bugs. It isn't entirely compatible with the most recent Post Build 12 modpack either. I will make an update for that.
You do need the Post Build 12 modpack for this file to work, though. I don't think it would work on top of Build 12. And you probably need to start a new game as well.

That might indeed be a good idea. We're currently trying to fix all the bugs in the regular Post Build 12 modpack. We're not working on fixing the new islands' bugs yet. Not that there are many really bad bugs with the new islands; it's just that the mod is highly unfinished.

I now made a very simple map of the new islands. I haven't (yet) added the island or town names, but you can easily do that yourself in Paint.

If add the names to the map, could you please share the named map with us as well? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

No, I don't think there is a way for that, MadMike, just speeding it up... We rushers hehe!)

I know Nathan once made a change to the map, so that sailing would go twice as slow as usual. This change did not make it into the Post Build 12 modpack, because it also slowed up the boarding fights, which was a REAL strange effect: Slow-motion sword-fighting! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />
But it <i>is</i> possible. Somehow... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Nice map Pieter. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/buds.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":drunk" border="0" alt="buds.gif" />

LOL. It's not that impressive. I just made a screenshot of the islands in the GM Viewer, then pasted it on top of a sea texture. Probably the simplest way of making a map ever. And it doesn't make for a really pretty one. But it should be useful.

mate simple things are simple for those who know how to , the non how to's like myself are just simple in the head <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blah:" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

*Bursts out laughing* <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" />

I wrote the names of the islands, and rotated the map so noth is upwards. Well it's not beautiful, but it's useful. I just got fed up with those inaccurate drawn maps, maybe someone can draw an accurate map, that looks cool. Well i made this for myself, but maybe someone else needs this, so here it is:
