Hi all... I have some new stuff to introduce

New dialog-window

<img src="http://foto.spbland.ru/data/media/11/lrg_96525_dialog.gif" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

New gamble-interface [three games - BlackJack, Poker, Dice]

<img src="http://foto.spbland.ru/data/media/11/lrg_96526_cards.gif" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

All stuff already sent to Pieter. New games need to be tested a little for correct gameplay (I'm not a big gambler <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />)

P.S. What about new dialog-window? Do we need it? For me - looks nice.

==================================================

Files will be on FTP in folder [MAXIMUS]. I'll upload an additional cards textures later (original pack "Grand Jeu de Mle. Lenormand" and printed in 1868 "Mythologica")

Wow, looking good!

I'd like to play with the dialog mod and see how it feels, but looks great! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />
And the poker game looks like a very nice add. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" />

The slimmer dialog is interesting. Could be nice. The transparency is a bit much making it difficult to read though. Reduced to 10% instead of what looks like 50%.

The pooker and all would be a very nice welcome, glad someone is tackling that, as it was in my idea list to do. Now I dont! YAY! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

I'm really looking forward to the variation of the 'parlour' games - looks excellent Maximus <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" /> (oh on that bit of dialogue in the poker game - add a 'play' in the line "Lets [play] one more time...")

i'm not a great gambler myself - but i'm sure we can test these fun games to get them right <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Edit: I love those pictures you've used for the playing cards - they look perfect.

I'd have to see how the new dialogue interface works in game(ref lots of text - how it 'expands/scrolls' etc) but it looks ok - if i was to critique it from that one screenshot the 'plain' border might need looking at? The bolder 'gold' one we currently have kinda gives the impression of quality...as in it looks like its made out of gold?(so more refined?) anyway its impossible to say untill i can see it in action properly, but thats my initial impression.

Edit2: And ref Hats remarks+mine if the background to the text was slightly darker, as hat was talking about - that might bring out the border a bit more(what i was talking about)?

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> there, Maximus.

Looks great. Dice game as well?

Cheers <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

One change to make this perfect would be to get the images of the old suits
Gold, Chalice, Club, Sword

to replace the modern Diamond, heart, club, spade.

Not sure if anyone knows what I'm talking about. They look like these.

Maximus, those look great! I can't wait to sit in Oxbay tavern playing poker with me mates. I've often wanted a little more challenge than "Roll the Dice"

Of course, you do realize that in 1690 poker haven't been invented yet? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" /> Just sayin' <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Maybe you could add yet another dice game: <i>Liar's Dice</i>? (as featured in DMC) <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

That looks right nice, Maximus. Good work mate!

History of poker has began a lot of ages back, from different sources it is a first half of 15th century. First poker-game appeared in the European countries - France, Italy, Spain. The rules of poker in those times were a bit differed from the rules of poker of todays, and in most cases players were must to set a bet with subsequent comparison of combinations. Accordingly, a better combination won.
First games from Poker family marked in Europe, a mentions about it are in literature for 1526. Presently we are playing Poker by five cards, but in early Poker were playing by three cards, and the game was named «primero» in Spain and in Italy and «la prime» - in France. A game included announcement of bet, and the estimated combinations were: three identical cards, pair, and also three cards of one colour.
In 1700 bluff, appeared by that time, teamed up with announcement of bets and playing by not three, but by five cards, and game began to be named «brag» in England, «pochen» in Germany and «poque» in France.

Now there's a nice idea. Would be nice to add that game into the game, yes. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

F..k me <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/william.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":will" border="0" alt="william.gif" /> It's a Davy Jones's game, right? OK, I'll try <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

Liar's Dice! i want that game! then i can really turn PotC into PotC.........hey. that game gives me an idea!

based on DMC:
why not, if Liar's Dice can be made, we turn it into a game for the Prisoners on board your ship. if they win, they get to go and start a new, free life next time you go into port. if they lose, they become your officers WITHOUT pay, and without possibility of going free if you fire him. if he's fired, he returns to the "Brig", locked up until you decide it's time to use him again.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/william.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":will" border="0" alt="william.gif" />

This is going to be sweet! Thanks very much Maximus!(and all the bods that posted some great bits and pieces here.)

I'm sooo looking forward to just chilling out in the tavern and takeing some REAL shore leave!! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/buds.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":drunk" border="0" alt="buds.gif" />

ref those card replacement graphics Petros(for the club/diamond etc) - were they all one 'suit' or do you have more versions you could post? They look great by the way - and i can tell Maximus wants them(as do we all i suspect!).

Completely(almost!) of on a tangent: did enyone play Morrowind with the 'Drunken Mod'?

If not this is what it did:

When you bought an alchoholic drink from the pubs, each addational drink would increase the effect of the drunken mod - basicaly the graphics would get all blury and swirl around more as you got more drunk. Also all you skills would be effected(like you couldn't fight very well) and i think if you kept pushing it - you would have 'black outs' and random control things happen(or maybe that was from another game? - not sure now?).

Anyway it was quite fun - definately very silly and something to experience in morrowind <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I'm not saying lets do one for PotC - but ......well.......it could be an extension to the whole tavern experience mod thing? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

That drunken thingie, is also part of fable, was really funny, you walked like jack, and all things where blurry, and if you had too much you was going to puke <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

That's sounds like a really cool idea. Would be especially nice if we could actually manage to put Davy Jones and the Flying Dutchman into the game. What if: Your ships sinks and you end up in the water and Davy Jones comes along and offers you a thing or two. Then when it is time to pay your debt, you can either try to get out of it or you can play Liar's Dice to save your skin. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

BOTH! so that, as a normal captain you do it to prisoners, and when Davy Jones get's you....it's pay back time.....
