New plain white sails

Ahoy,
after editing the existing plain white sails (in a very basic way) new and somewhat cheerful white sails see the light of day. If you like these sails i could upload them. Here is an example:

LoL, to put it this way, they sure are white <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Would you like a nice clean deck to go with those shiney white sails? I did one up for Grumblepunk but never put it into the game as it was a personal choice and the deck seemed to me to be TOO clean... But it does look nice... If you like, I could put that up on the FTP. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Nice work evil_parrot
the sails look maybe a litle bit to cealn but it looks good. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

Catalina, please upload it. Or post a picture if you like to. Did you brighten the wooden texture of the ship deck?
BTW i just increased the gamma for the sails textures, this has a good side effect: the national emblem now looks kinda `washed-out` (sails were cleaned with saltwalter?).
Rick - you are right, the sails look clean, the impression i got from the O'Brian books is that most navy ships around 1800 (not sure if this applied to corsairs or pirates) were *very* clean or maybe its just my 'romantic' imagination of the trade of war.

Navy ships USUALLY were pretty clean, I'd think... I think that's why Grumblepunk wanted the deck cleaner...

I'll have to dig for any deck shots, and find the clean deck - if I find it I'll play with it a bit and upload it to the FTP.

Busy tonight, tho... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> I'm in here "practicing work avoidance"! (practice makes perfect, you know!) <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
