just a question... have anyone ever thought of making some new quests available from the governour??... such as escort duties or town assults... things like that... maybe make you able to get command of a frigate or other military ships as a reward for advancements

another thing i would like to see is the ability to send a officer to the nearest freindly port with a price ship... maybe the ship would just get added to the berthering ships or so??
 
Both have been discussed here and there. I'm considering some new governor assignment quests, or maybe quests for towns but not necessarily coming from governors. (We're in the middle of expanding the Residences, which will make room for visiting dignitaries, intelligence officials, etc.) I'm also working toward a system of medals, which would enhance your skill and fix it so even horrible rep won't be a problem in certain towns. An example of such a quest: You're asked to infiltrate a prison ship which is carrying important personages and documents, and once there, since you've had to get yourself arrested to be there and are completely without weapons, you lead the other prisoners in escape and mutiny.

I'd like to adapt NK's shipberthing, that'd be perfect for sending prizes home. All I need to know how to do is enable it from sea instead of only on land, and maybe it could be only unlocked as a skill.

That would be really neat, though maybe you should be able to send a ship somewhere as a prize only when not in battle, to keep the challenge of picking the best prizes out of a fleet instead of simply capturing every ship you come across.
 
well... the idea is that you should be able to capture a whole fleet... or maybe two battleing fleets
 
There'd be some sort of limits, to be sure. What I kind of like, in terms of weighing the pros and cons, is that you'd have to temporarily lose those officers you send away

And maybe random events would see them `re-captured` somewhere `off-screen` along their journey, meaning you lose the ship AND your officer. Or maybe you'd hafta pay ransom to get your officer back.

In general I wish the other ships in a fight could board one another. You'd have to be `extra-careful` about who you attack then, in case an ally captures a ship you're fighting. And again, you'd have to pay to ransom your officers, or just let them go... for a rep hit.

yes.... i would love to be able to order my officers to capture another ship... i would also like merchant vessels to be able to surrender when being attacked by a supperior ship... if i attack a bargue with my corvette it should be able to surrender when i fire the first round since it has no chance of outrunning me and aren't able to give me much of a resistance
 
I would ALSO like the officers to have a greater chance of surviving a shipwreck... and while we're dreaming, let's make a newly captured ship assignable to an officer who's already got a ship, to replace the one they're already in, for when you come across a much better ship.
