Just like to say I think the build mod is great, good work to the people involved.

Anyway, so i recently started to mod PoTC and have managed to do a few minor stuff. Now I want to add a new good, I've edited the goods file and store file, and also the islands file to try and get goods into the game. However I can't seem to find the place where you get it to have a picture etc. Also it doesn't seem to actually be put into the game. I was just wondering which other files need to be edited and how to get a new good into teh game.

Lets see, you need to add it in goods.ini, store.ini(i believe), pictures.ini (Thats where you add the pic). You need a .tga image file compressed using the imaging tool, and I believe there may be one or more additional locations it needs to be added, things like common.ini(for a description if I remember right) and some other places I can't think of right now.

Hope that helps some.

The major places to look for stuff is in all the .ini, .c and .h files. And there is a pile of all of the above.

OK, I've added teh good to the pictures, common, and goods describe files, and I think I'm getting closer as when I enter into a store and try and trade I get a black screen, the music and everything still plays fine though.

EDIT: I realised I hadn't filled the goods describe file properly, but once that was done it worked and I could trade in stores. However I couldn't find the good. So I changed Oxbay to export the good, but now if I try and trade with oxbay it goes to the same black screen as earlier. Also it doesn't show as an export in the trade log.

Yes, still didn't work (I tested from both new game and a loaded one, both crash when I try to sell/buy with teh merchant).
 
Try to look at what you have done, step by step.....maybe you forgot something....if you did all that was said, then this is the most probable problem
