No food in stores= game end?

menzim@abv.bg

Landlubber
I have noticed that food is constantly declining in stores, where they export it.
So I wanna ask, is there is a way to replenish it?
I have already depleted the store at Martinique (I have 2 first class ships) and am greatly concerned about being cut off in the middle of the game.

Has anyone noticed tis problem?
Any solutions?

AFAIK goods in stores slowly replenish, so go plunder a different part of the Caribbean and come back later, it should be back.

If this happens then open the debug panel and enable the 'no rats and food' setting. It makes the rats go away and your crew doesn't need food anymore.

i previously need to start a new game because of this. I am keeping 2 soleyru and 3 manowars, after half a year, the entire caribbean no food. Except for Havana which i dun want to go there.

So i modified initStore.txt and start a new game.

Hi all. Im playing with out cheats , and first (who knows how many real life days) i just gathered gold 4 crew payment and ofc food 4 the armada i wanted 2 get in the future... after i farmed first 10 milion gold i tryed all kinds of combinations of ships 4 my armada.
Altho i found out that sometimes i can return the crew on the 31.day of the month and take them back the day after with out payment.( but in most cases u loose most of ur crews skill) so... when u got 5 ships with each 600-1000 salors on board i rather pay 500 000 a month 4 all crew that 2 bother my self with ship switchin and realesing 2-3 thousand man and then taking them on board again. so i figured money ain't the problem when i saw how much food and rum they consume <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />. crazy numbers .... my armada drings about 1000 barrels of rum par day. But back 2 food problem... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> i traveled all across the map in search of cities where i did not buy all food from reascently and i figure that my armada use more food 2 get there than i usualy find at stores. sometimes u dont even find food on other side of the map so u gota fire some crew. there u find the most anoying problem. i dont want 2 fire my 2500 sea dogs sailors cannoneers and fighters that took me ages 2 train.

Overall the only part when u realy gona need an armada is when u want 2 do some major upgrades at bermuda (those mahagony and ebony amounts are insane i hope 5 mow's will do, till then ill be satisfied with 1 of best mow's i had with upgraded speed and crew capsity only ( still so slow i watch most of enemys ships run in 80% of cases :p)

ps. still did not do more than few quests (stuck with blue bird quest) so i did not find the dutchman or sea dog that everybody is talking about (big ship with speed)

It does seem kind of far fetched that with 4 nations' navies in the caribbean there isn't even enough food around for the player's 4 or 5 ship "fleet." Food quantities need to be tweaked.

Good idea! But how do I do that?

Also you can enable god mode and you will need no crew at all. Actually you will need no ships at all. Just your trusty tartana.
This is even better idea.

I get a large ship, take it to the pirate settlement, improve it's cargo space and run around buying food with a few escorts and a modest crew on each - just enough to defend each vessel if boarded. After the ship is packed with food I take it to my home base and stow it until I have a need of it.
