Are you playing stock PotC (no mods)?

If you are playing with mods, what version of the Build are you using?

If you are playing with mods that are not part of the Build or Pieter's Modpack, which ones do you have installed?

What pirate quest do you refer to? Please be more specific as to what you are trying to do.

Did you take a look at your quest book to tell you what you need to do?

John John,
Welcome to the site site! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

I don't have the XBox version of the game, but I would imagine that this is not that different from the PC version of the game.

The Pirate on the Pirate island doesn't really have a quest to give out, he plays a part in the main story, but he doesn't initiate any actions for the players by himself. At some point in the game you will be sent to talk to him and he should respond then. (I don't want to give away any spoilers for playing the game, but let me know if you need a clearer explanation.)

Regarding the pirate's hostility level, I'm not certain if that that ever changes in the stock game or not, I don't think it matters if you don't attack pirates, and focus your attacks on the European powers, I don't think they ever lose their hostility, but I could be mistaken. Let us know if I've answered your question or not, and welcome again to the site. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

And get on with the quests <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Only one other thought comes to mind; Save and save often. One of the problems with the PC version unmodded, and I'm assuming the XBox as well, is that the story line does not appear to have been well though out and you can "paint yourself into a corner" from which you can't get out again. When that happens it is always a relief to have a couple of back up saves so you don't have to start all over again. (I don't care how much anyone likes Keira Knightley, there are only so many times you can listen to her relate the tale of the capture of Oxbay.)

If you do get stuck you can take comfort in this; you are not alone. I had to start the game several times before I finally got thru it the first time, and even after I finished it I was uncertain of whether or not I had found everything or completed all of the quests.

I have recently acquired an XBox, if I find a cheap copy of POTC, I may have to pick it up. I'm a bit curious and would like to do a comparison bewteen the XBox and PC versions.

Pirate hostility on XBox in constant and unrelenting.

And when you are saving, always use a new save slot. You can delete old ones as you go so as to not run out (there is a limit), but always save into an empty slot.

My experience with XBox is that it crashes way less than either the unmodded or modded PC version, but that could be just my crappy laptop. But it is possible to back yourself into a corner, even if you don't crash. Save early and save often.
