So, uh, what's going on? Where should I pick up? What can I do to help? What has happened on the PotC front? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huhh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:k" border="0" alt="huhh.gif" />

Think I was nought but a mere lubber last time you were here.

I'm thinking probably the best way to get back into it is to go to Pieter's Pirate Page and grab the latest version of the Build. Pre-Build 13 that is. There's also a features list there, too, although it's a little out of date... alot more has been added since. We've also got a few nasty bugs that some of our shipmates here are currently working on to iron out. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" />

Hoping you've got some more great models/textures coming our way.

Much progress and exicting changes have been made. A whole interface to start the game with a lot of choices, most of the new islands, but not Cuba are working, and we are closing in on getting a stable build 13. I will be really interested in yourreaction.

Install the game, build 12.1 and then the pre-build 13.

How is that for rotten luck? I bring out my PotC CDs yesterday - and the second one of them got a centimetre long scratch in it, killing the CD, right in the big installation file. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

So, what file do I need to edit to get my own selection of character in that new, fancy selection screen thingie? I so desperately need to change that selection! There is an easier way: go to a tailor and shop for more female skins. Last time I checked, there were no less than 10 of those. Just keep on exiting the tailor dialogue and entering it again - he will have a (somewhat) new set of skins for sale every time. In redmond, the tailor shop is in the part with the stream, in a house in the corner, with stairs leading up to his door.

I do want to change the start-up selection, though (just as I as always change the whole marriage so my girl can get her boy, heheh - among other things).
 
To change your starting skin, go to BuildSettings (or use the Potcmodhelper in the Tools folder) and go down to the bottom to ***** MAXIMUS [choose model mod] ***** . You should be able to change your choice of starting models/skins here.

Hmmm... sure I used to be able to change my starting skin in Build Settings, although maybe not since Maximus' Choose Model Mod was introduced??? Sorry about that.

Should be able to change it somewhere. Will let you know when I find it.

Jack - I managed to a couple, and got it to work. At first I replaced all and had a crash to the desktop. Alas, now I can not play at all, of course, since my poor PC died. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

To answer your question about the start-up screen selection pictures: You need to add a texture file to RESOURCE\Textures\INTERFACES\BACKGROUND.

If you want to know anything else about the recent mods, feel free to ask.

How are your computer and PotC CD doing?

BTW: You once converted some fist-fighting sounds I sent you to a format the game would accept. We now again have troubles with sound files not playing, so that's at least one thing you could try to work on. Should be pretty easy.
