November Post Build

Does anyone have a copy of the November 21 post build package? I wanted to install it and take a look at it, as it's considered for being the base for build 13 so I can do some testing and maybe do some work with trying to figure out what's causing some of the bugs that have surfaced since then.

It's available for download from <a href="http://pieter.piratesahoy.org/downloads/pre_b13.zip" target="_blank">here</a>. I even have some additional bugfixes available <a href="http://pre_b13_upd_5-3-06.zip" target="_blank">here</a>. There are some mess-ups in dialogs though. I once started work on a Pre Build 13, as you can see, but I never continued. I know I should though. And I will make one as soon as I can. Provided I have time, of course. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

If you wanted I could help you compile it, i'll have free time this weekend as all my Final Exams will be over and I graduate next thursday <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" /> I also found that almost all bugs I had with the April 30 build were non existant in build for march 5, so it may be good to start there as well, I'll look over what's in novembers build though.

If you can help with anything, that'd be grand! I would recommend using WinMerge to see all code-differences. That's a great help. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

umm guys I AM HAVING LESS CRASHES WITH april 30 updte than with 5 march one so whats going on?

I don't know. Maybe you have less crashes, but there are bugs other than crashes and the 30 April version has plenty of them. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Regarding crashes mine are less withe the April 30th also but they increase consciderably about half-way through, once you get out of jail in Redford. This was the case after 3 play throughs so that might be a good place to look into.

The others are mostly harmless if anoying. Spicificly I've noticed:

1) Ocasional friendly fire incidents where alies sometimes register as enemies, low frequency and only happens on a case-by-case.

2) Flags are hit and miss and sometimes cause hostility where they shouldn't. Probobly related to the item above but seems to increase its frequency. Also you always fly a dutch flag when your personal flag is set.

3) Officers sometimes wander away as they do when you remove them from the passengers list while on land even if you don't. Correctable by removing them from list, leaving area, putting them back and returning.

4) Hard lock-ups (requiring a power-cut OWCH!) when you talk to the woman in the self-build mansion. Once in a while thing though.

5) One one occasion I lost all non-captain characters after putting their ships on shore leave.

6) On the "Female French Pirate" mission (where you attack the Oxbay mines) a new officer named "Crewman" (Comrade-in-arms) was generated but if he survived to the last board where you reach the shore where your ship is waiting this would cause the final resolution of the mission to fail, thus losing you your ship. If he was killed prior to reaching this point it proceeded normaly.

Taking him off the passenger list didn't seem to help. I kept several saves along the way and tried it several ways (I was determained to keep my new officer!) but the results were conscistant.
