but seriously, a yellowbeard model, probably with the smoking incense stick in the hair, he used to wear while boarding ? that would be so <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />
 
Every new model would be nice. But making new animations is something that, so far, nobody has managed. The same goes for burning hair on a character model. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />
 
i just had a vision! imagine you playing blackbeard with smoking hair but having just as much smoke as the cannons originally produced! you wouldn't be able to see a thing! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> you could see him from a mile away! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

well we have a model for a few big bearded pirates in PotC - so making a 'yellow beard' wouldn't be impossible i suspect(just hardwork). Once i got my bearings with my modelling software i plan to go on a 'creation' spree.

For the real world pirates like 'Black Beard' and 'Yellow Beard' i was thinking along the lines of adapting the large char model of 33_rodney(i think it is?) - that giant bald headed fellow with the wolf tatoos for the body sizes, as both these pirates were famously large man mountains, and messing around with some of the bearded heads that have been created? something along those lines.

Still i suspect from what i've seen of the intricacies of 3DsMax so far, and my complete newbie status to the software, we'll be well on our way to build 15 before then!

a friend of mine said, he thinks, they did it, to look "ghostly" to other people...
i just think, they were hard guys and all, and couldnt lay off their smoke.

well. i know how they did it. they tied cannon fuses in their hair and lit them. of course, they only smouldered, otherwise you would be in some serious trouble. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/boom.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":boom" border="0" alt="boom.gif" /> and of course, the one wearing the things must have gotten pretty anxious if the battle lasted for a long while. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
 
those smoky beards where to frighten people, they said of blackbeard that he looked like the devil himself on boarding party`s, VERY tall man, many weapons, and smokey beard. I wouldnt be very keen to meet that man in a dark alley :p

the thing is i don't have any idea how to
 
don't have any idea how to use the program or make the smokey beards? cos if you don't know how to use the program, why the heck do you have it? it would be fun to have those smoking beards. i'm worried though that you couldn't see anything in first person. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ko" border="0" alt="ko.gif" />
 
If you want a smoking beard, you should make locators for it, like for guns on a cannon, and then program it so, that if you push for example the spacebar, your beard would began to smoke <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
 
i had one of those envisionments again. imagine this: you draw your sword, trigger the smoke, and POOF! you're walking in a cloud! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> wat i'm saying is, don't overdo it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> it would be funny if you heard when triggering the smoke: 'O my god he's on fire!' and get swamped by a bucket of water. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
 
well, all i wanted was a yellowbeard model <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
but how about this: adding a new item like... "Cosmetic Cannon Fuse" that would, get your hair smoking and if you used if BEFORE any battle/boarding, somewhat "scare" your enemies, i.e. increase defensive behaviour and reduce the frequency of their attacks ... imho a "useless" feature. but surely would add even more depth.
