OBITUARY

Code:
To my great shame and regret, Captain Murphy has been "hanged until dead".
And ON MY WATCH too.

I fear he may have taken my "hang in there" too literally.

As per the 29th of March 2022... I officially have blood on my hands.
A community member actually died.
And AFTER I officially took over ownership of PiratesAhoy! too.

Not ever again will I be able to "wash my hands in innocence".
Now my responsibility requires me to make this life debt up to the Captain.

Perhaps nobody can be saved.
But it is in my job description to try it anyway.
This is what it means to be *the CAPTAIN*.

No regrets.

You can't blame yourself for Captain Murphy's death, nor would he want for you to do so.
As for Captain Murphy himself. I hope you are in a better place now, may you rest in peace.

You can't blame yourself for Captain Murphy's death, nor would he want for you to do so.
I did not use the word "blame".
I tend to use my words quite carefully.

I used the words "life debt".
That translates to "a debt of responsibility", I would say.

Since I do not have all the answers, I freely choose to:
Owe my debt of responsibility to @Captain Murphy.

Since @Captain Murphy has passed on, this community is the next best I have available.

I used the word "regret" exactly 2 times.
1: "To my great shame and regret"
2: No regrets.

I can add a final word:

Do you see what I did (t)here?

WIP START
I used my FREEDOM to INDEBT MYSELF to [***] that is not myself.
WIP END

Again, do you see what I did there?
FREEDOM INDEBT MYSELF
my MYSELF not myself
to [***?]

I think I get what you mean now.
We can't change the past but we can improve, for Captain Murphy's sake.
But at the same time you don't feel regrets, meaning you won't let the past drag you down?

Quite different from my initial reading, but I think that I do agree with it.

Been awhile since I've been here and terrible news that we lost Captain Murphy. I'm going to be trying to make my way back here more often, but been so caught up in other games I've been lax in visiting this fine community.

As a mere landlubber, but occasional visitor of these boards, I offer my condolences as well.
We have experienced also a loss in our gaming community once, of our most senior member;
so as community co-founder myself I feel I can relate to you, in your life-debt feeling.
The important thing is to continue the project, and keep up the good vibes. For them!
