Ocean realism and blacksmith

The mod that makes the sea rough with waves and wind and so on is really, really good. I know its kinda obvious, but I wanted to thank you guys for doing it. School brought us sailing and...my god...when you're sailing around an island with force 3 wind and a clear sky...it really, really, REALLY looks like POTC!! I'm serious!

Also, I was wondering if there are any blackmsiths aside from the one in Douweson and if the blacksmiths can upgrade my guns?!

In the default Build 12 (or 12.1), there is just this one blacksmith in the Douwesen harbour. However: A mod has been made by Alan Smithee that adds a blacksmith to all islands, except Oxbay and Khael Roa. Check out <a href="http://millenniumdock.bravepages.com/storage/others/potcmods.htm" target="_blank">this</a> link and download. Most mods in there work quite properly already, but you can turn off the disarm feature in BuildSettings.h as that is not working fully properly yet (working on that).
The blacksmith cannot improve your gun yet, but I'm sure that will be a feature to be added soon too.

Full thanks to Mithrandir who is The Weather Man, basically. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
{and allow me to echo your thanks as well; it's amazing the difference it makes...}

Agreed! The weather mod is incredible! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

NK (and welcome back; you've come at a very good and productive time), you were the one who made that graphical interface for blacksmiths, right? I never did get it to work; it caused me a C+ error. Still and all, I'd like to see the code adapted for guns...

Also: Shipberthing was yours, yes? I've been thinking I'd like to see it adapted, or a similiar function written, to allow you to send a prize ship to some island, losing you an officer for a while but freeing up a spot. Limitations on this valuable ability could include it being a skill, or only applicable when not engaged in combat.

Alan, thanks. It's great to be back, great to see all the neat stuff you (all) have been--and are!--up to!

I'm afraid you're wrong on both counts, however, they're both by Kieron (the interface master), who sadly seems to have left sometime around October...

I know a bit about interfaces, so I'll see what I can do to help, but I'm no Kieron. :
{they're both certainly neat ideas!}

Do you have the interface files? (Or know where they're stashed online)? As I don't think I have 'em.

In re: sending ships back to ports. I'd prefer if it's OK to hold off on this until I get fleets in general working (see nation strength thread etc), as it's a perfect use for them.

Is it just after the weather mod or did it happen in the stock game as wel,l that even in middle waves the bow chasers often wash under <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> ?
