Officers and Marines Skins Addon and Current Post Build Patch?

I was curious on adding this addition to the big POST BUILD MOD. However, I have a compatiblity question.

"Note: Post Build 12 Mods are required" ... but is it compatible with the latest PATCH? The latest patch replaces the "PROGRAM/Models/initModels.c" file. So, would overwriting this file with the Officers and Marines version do any harm to the Post Build Mod PATCH?

Likewise... well, not the same thing, but related. The music addons. I tried the Cutthroat Island one and it broke things.

I did a compare on the music_alias.ini files, and noticed a lot of the headers changed.

It would be nice if all these music packs were done properly. Music files named unique (use a prefix tag), then have a setting of prefix in the Build settings file. The music_alias file then would have all the music pack additions to them in the main Build Patch download... its just if someone WANTS the music and enable it, then they can download the 40-90mb packs to try out without it overwriting (and thus breaking) things with the latest build patches.

I hate responding to myself, but oh well...

As far as the music files go, I took the liberty of doing what I suggested should be done. I uniquified all the filenames, and rebuilt a music_alias.ini file that includes all settings for all sets, designated by the handy "MUSICSCHEME" setting in the BuildSettings.h file.

I won't repackage and distribute this because it would go against the original pack compilers intent.

I like the idea. Could you give us some example code and filenames? I don't need the whole thing. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Well, I ran into a glitch doing that. It's in that other (embarrassing) thread of mine where I get serious aweful sound drop issues.

I havn't figured out why adding that many music alias groups, it makes the sounds cut out! My only figuring is that when it reads in the sounds inis (music included) the game only allocated so many setting slots to fill up, and when there are 5 music sections... it takes up too much space and sounds get dropped! (maybe even music too, but I couldn't tell if a certain song was being dropped out).

So... great idea, bad bug...

The officers and marines are compatible, as far as I know. Install it and do a reinit. You can buy the skins from tailors. They are not used ingame.

I'll check the music mods. Would be nice to have them working properly. I thought they were working, but apparently now.

Well the part of breakage was that oddball sound thing.

What you have up for download does work, if you didn't by chance have any extra music_alias files laying around in the ALIASES folder !!! lol, which I did, cause I was keeping 'originals' so I could switch back the music if I didn't like the new sets.

So, all that buggage, bombage, messijunk was all my doing. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm set up with the latest patch from Pieter's page and added the military skins mod with no trouble. It's all new material and doesn't overwrite anything so there should be no issues there.
