Ive been playin this game abouit for a week now, i have 2 ships with my Royal Galleon. But any ways where do i pick up officers, i found 1 dude, his name was like Nigel or w/e but he died in battle. Thats the only officer i found, other than that i dont feel like raiding ships and making them my officers.
 
Like in the stock game: Look in the taverns, people that look different as the others are mostly officers. they sit at a table. Some times you encounter one on the streets too.
 
mmm taverns, well im playing the build 14 mod and there are ALOT of different looking people on the streets and the taverns
 
ever tried talking to them? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />
 
also have you tried equipping your officers so they don't die so easily?

like armor, sword, pistol, health potions.

Raiding ships is what its all about, so don't be afraid of shelling something until it surrenders, then board and collect. Nice pize money too.

Nigel is a Quest officer, ye picked up at QC, he's wurth about 100,000 coin in yer pocket, to bad he got axed in battle <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

morgan terror strikes again! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> anyway, taverns are your most reliable source for officers, but you can get better ones on the streets. in fact, i once found one of level 67! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />
 
ok i found some officers in taverns, and been playing the main quest, until i found a bug in the world map before i saved, and now everything i get on world map it crashes to desktop, so i gotta start over <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sleep.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="-_-" border="0" alt="sleep.gif" /> i was at the pirate lord quest. Btw how do u equip ur officers, i cant equip anything, every time i try to exchange them, all i cvan give them is money, cheap spy glass, and a worn out pistol. there arent any other items that i can give. i hate this bug, i enter world map, it crashes, and i dont wanna direct sail either, i gotta start over <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sleep.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="-_-" border="0" alt="sleep.gif" /> and i just found the flying dutchman too.
 
you found it!? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> cool! anyway, i've heard this bug before. just wait until morning in a tavern, and try again. it happens when the change of day is close to the point where you enter the world map. officers equip items themselves. you don't have to give them a spyglass.
 
but the thing is im at world sea right now, so i cant get to land, and everytime i load my game, i have to goto direct sea or else it will crash within 10 seconds of the game
 
that's odd. how can you save at sea? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blink:" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> anyway, you should ALWAYS have a backup save ready from a few minutes before, like the previous island.
