Arrrgggg!!!! Attack the Ship of the Line !!! (yells the pirate captain, as his War Tartane moves into attack position)

Every time I turn around I am being attacked by very small ships I can't catch and all they do is run once in the battle.

every time I leave port now I am swarmed by at least 4-6 enemies from all directions one after another, and not one of them actually wants to fight after we go into combat. and even if they did it would not be much of a fight. There has got to be a way to keep the mindless attacking down. I can't even move across the map anymore. with out the
"KILL HIM!!!.....Ooops just kidding....." happening all the time. it has made the game unplayable.

What did you sey ship encounters as, low, standard or high?

How far into the game are you ie the game year?

yeah that is one thing bout this game i do hate.i play on easiest difficulty with encounters set to
low and still can't go anywhere without a pirate catching me on map mode stopping my travel
every other minute or so,heck i litteraly can not go from Willemstad to Maracaibo
without being stopped atleast 3 times.so using the debug window,i turned world encounters to off :dance

If thats just after one game year than i am dreading it, my encounters is set to low and at the moment its not too bad, i normally wait a few seconds after the world map loads up (if near a friendly port) then if no pirates can be seen from fully zoomed out view i begin my journey most often i do see a pirate ship or two but as soon as the ancher appears i hit attack and by doing that i can go straight back to the world map and continue my journey without there interferance. I have noticed if you have a small ship or a ship thats not very storng the eney and pirates constantly attack you, when i had my fleet (all now parked up at Charlestown) which was my ship Corevtte (for defending the ships)2nd ship, Heavy Galleon (nice ship, much better than the standard Galleon) 3rd ship, Pinnace, 4th and final ship, Soliel Royal. I didn't get many encounters when using that fleet however my task is to have 4 Soliel Royal's as my trade ships and a Constitution as my Flag ship, i much like the role of escort than escorted.

yeah i shoulda clarified, that for me was from the second i started the game.not enough crew
ship not full repaired and no or barely any food.it was horrible, specially cause
to be honest,i'm a cruddy player.rarely win the honest way.so cheat i did and am
things are much more fun now,i can actually enjoy the game and quest lines.
i gave all characters 10k to start.so i can fully repair crew and stock, and turned off
map encounters and food and rats.and god mod of course.game is still challenging to me
but not impossible like it was :shrug

it's a option in the debug menu if you choose the installations button on the bottom right.you
can show locators turn off food/rats and other things in that menu. :dance

Hahaha, i need glasses. I looked at the debug window not paying any attention to the bottom or top corners, that clears that problem with food shortages for ever. Now i can get my Fleet out again and have a lot of fun.:D

Thank you, those rats really like medicine. I was thinking there was a feature to exterminate the rats of the boat...

Once you max your sailing perks, you can choose to engage the annoying little cusses or just sail on. Also good cannoneer skills will let you take their rigging/masts down quickly with chain shot so you can overtake them. Another good trick is to use ball aimed manually right above the sails/red target synch and masts come down fairly easily. I'm playing Journeyman and I chew up the little cusses as extra food and supplies with negligible damage to myself constantly. V/R Aaron S

It came down to a Totem????? It should of been an ability...

i agree, and one the same vain they should of not put a level cap in either.so after lots of
pillaging plundering and economic trade you could have all ship abilities :will
