Has any one heard if a patch is in the works and when it might be released.

I think I'll give it another 5 days then return it to the retailer. Some of these problems just kill the game and warrant a refund.

I havent´heard of an official patch but someone in the community says he´s working on an unofficial one who fixes a dancing bug. Maybe if you name us your problems we could help you. Give us a try. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

Merry Christmas to you. That dancing sometimes freezes your game is the result of a minor bug in the game. This bug is a problem that sometimes when you start the game or the dance the game switches memory adresses making the game unstable. The User Chronowerxx is working on an unofficial patch to fix this bug in the .exe . I look forward to that fix.

What the soundard depends I dont´know if I can help you. Can you specify your problem, please?

My biggest issue is the game seems to not like my ATI drivers anti aliasing (CAT 4.12 official). When the game starts the intro scenes have this horrible white flashing if anti aliasing is on. Its fine with it off.

They seem to be wasting time making stupid patches to change your guns and sails then fix the game properly

Interesting, I've been playing the game for over a month, almost every night, have never had one lockup or crash, and I dance quite a bit. Does it happen frequently?

I found a bug.
At the first, the game is no any problems, but after playing hours, the memory swapping is getting frequntly, the screen switch is very slow (firing, battle and so on), does anybody meet the same problem?

yes mike, i've seen that too. slow motion fades between screens and slow motion combat.

ihave to say tho, in my experience it corrects itself. it doesnt happen very often to me. but i have 1 gb ram so perhaps i just postpone it longer?

Who do you refer to by "they"?

The modders are naturally modifying the graphics files, since that is the only area that is open to modding at the moment.

Modding is very different from `_re-programming_` which is what fixing the known bugs requires. To `re-program` something, you have to study the original code (usually in a format that is not that easy to decipher, since all code is compiled by Firadis and decompilation is more or less impossible), try to figure out what does what (often by just seeing what a change here or a tweak there will do when you start the game), and then programming a new subroutine to replace the part that needs fixing.

This is why only Firaxis can produce a real patch, since they have the original code to work with.

There's a Feedback form on de Firaxis website! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> Use dat, matey! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />
