Picky Blacksmiths

[Captain Hazard]

I've visited a few of the blacksmiths that have been added. It's cool that you can have your pistols upgraded to excellent now, but I was only able to get one upgraded to excellent, none of my other pistols. I even tried going outside, giving my excellent pistol to my officer and coming back in with my average one. He wouldn't work on any more. Then I went to Dowesen with a sword that is in Fine condition and that blacksmith wouldn't upgrade it to Excellent. They both say something like they could polish them off for me, and I always have to say that would cost too much. They never said how much it would cost, but I'm pretty sure cash isn't a problem. Any ideas?

Just a guess here, but do you have enough personal money to pay for the upgrades. The money for upgrading a sword or gun comes out of your personal wealth, not the ship's funds. Hope this helps.

Good point from Meigger: That is probably it. If you don't like having to pay from your personal wealth, you can toggle BLACKSMITH_PAY_OUT_WEALTH off in BuildSettings.h.

All smiths repair blades. All smiths, except for the one at Conceicao. :wink
