Is there any good pics of French and English 17th century frigates out there?
Crap, I've looked all over the web and can't seem to find any??
I'm just trying to reskin some of the Corvettes and Frigates in the game and I'd love to have a reference.

17th Century Frigate? Frigates didn't really develop as a separate class until late in the 17th.

In the 17th Century, as far as I know, ships didn't really have a standardized way of being painted. Pretty much, each ship was its own ship, and painted likewise.

In the 18th Century ships were painted along general national lines, at least the naval vessels were. Usually the hull would be one color, with a different color running along the gun ports to give a "checkered" look when the ports were open, and a single band look when the ports were closed.

When looking for information on how to paint ships, look to modeling sites and wargamming sites. They usuall have great links to instructions on how to accurately paint ships and armies.
