Pirate chasing quests

Rad

Privateer
Hi, anybody. I am playing Beta 1 version and I am at 41 level now. In the course of all my playing I didn´t encounter any Pirate chasing quest from any governor except the one that I obtained at the very beginning of the game. Capt. Murdock wrote in other post he had a lot of them in the course of his playing Beta 1 version. So, I would like to ask anybody if you have or had these quests in the course of your playing Beta 1 version in your game. Have I anything switched off in my BuildSettings.h? Or why no these quests appear in my game ? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

I had mentioned this a week or two ago, I think it was fixed in the Beta 2 IIRC. I haven't actually tested it though.

I don't know about Beta 1, but if you ever click on "Indeed" when you ask for work, you're committed to taking the pirate quest. If you turn it down after clicking on "Indeed" you won't get another. There may be a timer on it that expires and you'll get more quests afterwards.

You also won't get another pirate quest if you don't complete the one you're given. If you let the ship go in the surrender dialog, don't expect another pirate quest. If you don't go after the pirate, you won't get another quest.

There may be other problems if your quest pirate surrenders to another ship. You'll either have to abandon pirate quests or take the reputation hit for shooting a surrendered ship. I'd rather take the reputation hit myself.

Of course, if someone's messed with the pirate quest code, they may have broken it.

I played these quests many times in the past so that for this reason I think I know how to obtain them and how these missons could work. I give here this post for the reason Cpt. Murdock said these Pirate quests worked for him well in Beta 1, while for me don´t work in B1 version at all. Therefore I think Pieter could be quite confused by this opposite statements. So, I think it would be fine if we find out how it is or was in Beta1 and if it would be corrected in Beta2 and if it works now. I like these quests very much so I think it would be a pity if they wouldn´t work in game properly. And they always appeared in the game very often. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />
