finally.......

the pc version will be out on Nov. 16, 2004 and the xbox in spring of 2005. although it will be a matter of 4 months at least, im sure, Atari made the right choice. how many gamers out there who would like to see games about Pirate??? i'd say LOTS!!! im sure, if multiplayer will be applied to the xbox version it will be fantastic. but before i pop the top of the champaign for having Pirates in XBOX, i need to play the Pirates in PC <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

PC for me too...

however. the xbox version will be good for those who have poor computers and dont wanna buy a new computer just to play Pirates.
 
I'm for `console-versions`,simply because i can't play games on my pc and i have a console(playstation).Not everything is black or white.I hope they bring out a playstation 2 version in a while.Greetings,Sonicsfan.
 
The xbox statement mentions that it will "take advantage of xbox live" does that mean there will be multiplay in the PC version as well?

Probably you need not to worry,i suppose the `mp-option` will already there before the `x-box` version comes out,you see.
 
yea if you cant play the game with your computer ..... buying xbox is much cheaper i guess rather than paying for a new computer. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blah:" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

i started way back in the mid 80's to play in PC. but what i dont like in PC gaming is that, you ahve to bring your PC up to date just to play games. i think, they should have a standard platform (for a period of time, say `2-3` years) for the majority of the consumer who either cant afford to update their PC every good games come along or in budget constraint. like me, i was not ablet to play POTC in my pc it keeps on crushing, so just bought the xbox version. although you guys do the modding w/c makes the game even better, i just cant spend $$ just to update my pc to play video games.
 
Updating a computer, IMO, is just like buying the newest version of the game console... It's just a matter of having the right components - which are getting CHEAPER as time goes by. Getting a new video card and more memory or a new motherboard is sometimes cheaper than buying a new console. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

i have PS2, Xbox and PC (laptop) so any games that comes out..... specially pirate games, i can have it <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/pirate2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p:" border="0" alt="pirate2.gif" />

if Sid will not work for my laptop, then i dont have a choice but to wait for xbox version. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" />
 
Indeed it is a bit more expensive to upgrade to a brand new PC just for a game, but hey, if more games are for the PC, and they can't run very well on your current one, why not upgrade? It will be worth it in my opinion. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

BTW, if you are on a budget, you can buy a good PC for around $700. I’ve looked on the net and for $700 you can buy a PC with an Athlon XP 3200+, 128MB video Card, 512MB memory. That’s pretty decent... Although nothing compared to a Dell XPS which has 3.6GHZ and 4GB memory for $5,000... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" />
 
Good news - i think it would make a good console release. I'll be getting it for my xbox and also Corsairs II(SeaDogsII) for my new PC. That should give me plenty of Pirate fun.

Pirates! - for the casual fun aspect

SeaDogsII - for the more serious pirate playing.

I heard in an interview with someone in the Firaxis team that the xbox version will be more actionpackad than the PC version. for instance it will not be enough to just fight the captain of the ship.

so for those who want a real Pirates experience then you have tgo buy the PC version....

cause swordfighting is not the fun part of Pirates.. at least not according to me.
 
I like the strategy action combination,if it only was strategy it wasn't so good.I want to have swordfights,sailing,attack enemy ships and towns etc...

I agree...

the swordfighting is fun...

but the sailing and exploring part is even funnier... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

what i like most in the pirates games are:

1. plunder plunder plunder plunder
2. sword fights
3. sea battles
4. trading (specially if u poke a sword/gun to the shopkeeper)
5. discovery/treasure hunt
6. mermaids....... i mean maids who would like you to be merry. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" />
 
And...
