Have some quesions to ask the POTBS team since our last Q&A well jot them down as we're gonna do another :cheers

Russel Williams is going to swing his sword around for our amusement again:)

The smart thing now would be to put the old interview up, but alas it was lost when we did the changeover from nuke to mambo so sorry about that :p:

Kev: I fixed the typo Keith.....burnig xD: :d:

Did they answer the last bunch? I don't recall seeing the response. Anyway, no questions from me other than when will avatars be instated (which is what I asked the first time 'round). xD:

Q : why have you chozen an MMORPG instead of an "normal" game ? (a Q a bit as Grublepunk , but maybe you can melt them together)

While I have no intentions of paying for an `on-line` game.....

Q: Can we get an estimate of how many ships we can expect in the game?

not alot happeneing here is there :yes

I get the feeling there would be alot more questions if this had single player in it aswell, or plain multiplayer

Well no one wants to pay, we're all just too cheap :yes

I'm definitely interested in this game, but they have a good FAQ at their site:

http://www.burningsea.com/faq.php

And if that's not enough, the burning site community FAQ will blow you away:

http://www.burningseacommunity.com/modules...s.php?name=cfaq

There's really nothing left for us to ask except, "can I be in the Beta?"

PS. A MMORPG of PotC would be infinitely more fun than the single player game, I can't believe so few people here are not intrigued, but I do understand that it's quite a step to start subscribing to online games, so many people just wouldn't dream of it.

Yeah, you pretty much right with that sampow ive been to those places already, they do cover it pretty well

I've said this before, but I'll say it again:

How many hours of play do you get out of the average game? 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, 6 months? For me, probably 1 month (and that’s a generous figure). After a month I've either beaten the game or lost interest in it, and it gets shelved alongside all my other `never-to`-`be-played`-again titles. Sure, occasionally a game comes along that redefines playability and gets reinstalled for months to come, but then how many single games do you play continuously for over a year?

Online games, good ones, provide you with a gaming experience that simply doesn’t have to end. In most cases the world is dynamic and the characters are realistic (‘cause they are real people). And guess what, after 4 months of playing, you’ve probably forked out as much money as your would have on a `single-player` game that got shelved long before the `4-month` mark.

If you actually pay money for your games (we’re not those kinds of pirates I hope), you’ll find that online games are far more value for money and will last vastly longer than `single-player` games, and just when you think you’ve done just about everything that can be done in the game, the constant revenue the game produces allows them to update it and lift the bar even further.

So, pay 40 bucks for a `single-player` game that could be great, but you’ll still most likely be finished with it after a month or two (unless it’s a gem, and there are very few of them), or pay 40 bucks towards an online game that will be constant fun for 4 months, you’ll get to experience it with heaps of other people and there will be constant updates.

Now if you are seriously enjoying it and find it inevitable that you’ll be playing it for over 4 months, just continue your subscription. This is where people start to think, “This game is gonna cost me over $100 bucks a year!” So? If you stick with one online game all year round, ‘cause it’s just so much fun, consider how many other `single-player` games you wouldn’t have bought to fill that gaming gap? A lot more than 100 bucks worth, that’s for sure!

It costs more to go to the cinema for 2 hours than it does to play the average online game for as much time as you can spare in an entire month.

I totally agree with sampow, 10$ a month is perfectly reasonable. Ive paid `40-50`€ for games that i finished and forgot in 1 month, so, what's the problem?. If i don't like it and i'm bored in 1 month, then i've just only spent 10 bucks and still had 1 month time to try and enjoy the game. Definitely, that's better than paying 4 or 5 times more in a game that you might like, you might not (if your lucky enough you may have played a demo before you decided to purchase it, but that's only a taste).

I will love that game, i'm sure, and i don't mind paying that monthly suscription, that compared to other MMORPG is very reasonable.

About the lack of Q in this thread...as sampow pointed, its dificult to find any question that has not been answered in the huge community FAQ:
http://www.burningseacommunity.com/modules...s.php?name=cfaq
It's awesome!

;)

You hit the right spot there Sampow! :cheers
A massive multiplayer game is a whole lot different from a single player game and that very same reason won't keep me away from paying for this game!

@Nachinus: Mopster is doing a great job on that indeed! If I find enough time and spirit to work on the encyclopedia, I will try to make that just as informative as the FAQ of Mopster :cheeky

@england: I think there will be, but it will never hurt to ask the Devs :cheers

@Grumblepunk: Don't take my word for it but there's a HUGE change there won't be a `stand-alone` game. Maybe on a very late stage to practice in (like in World War II Online), but I seriously doubt that.

@KevO44: I think it will be around 20 different ships. We've only seen 11 by now: The Cutter, Flute, Small Galleon, Ketch, Longboat, Large Schooner, Small Schooner, 74, Sloop, `Sloop-of`-War and the Xebec. I think they're working from the bottom up: except for the 74 they've only published ship that are not rated. So we still need to see 6th, 5th and 4th rate ships of the line.

Hey WM, good to see you're looking in on these forums. :cheeky Watchout though, any minute now you'll possibly be bombarded by Catalina and the rest of the welcoming crew! :cheers

Thanks for the info too.

Hi,

It doesn't mean that because there is such a FAQ that there aren't any questions to be asked. Many things are still not 100% on paper and some questions are many months old. It's up to you to find these things and ask about them. The devlogs can give you ideas about some questions too. Not everything is told in detail, you can go ask for those details.

Also, i see an interview as a good way to bring new and old information to interested people. Not everyone takes his time searching trough a few hundreds of entries in the FAQ. Interviews mostly go about general information of the game and that's what most people look for the first time they learn about the game. :cheers

So, don't just give up :cheeky

Smash'em all! In last Q/A I see that they dont know if it will has a multiplayer and NOW IT IS ONLY MULTIPLAYER! It's a MMORPG, it IS Multiplayer. Always have been and always will be <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

And it was not always mmoprg! I have seen Q/A where they speculate about multiplayer, and thay arn't sure about any MP!
