Pirates! won't run full screen...

When I try and run the game in full screen mode it just minimises to the task bar and sits there.

If I edit the ini file and run the game in windowed mode it's fine!

Has anyone else encoutered this problem and found a solution?

I'm using a Radeon graphics card and I updated my drivers but
nothing seems to help...

Any sugestions?
