Been thinking of getting this for ages but have known about its buggy nature. Is it now playable??
 
With the Secrets of Far Seas or Sea Legend is Back mods, its quite a nice game. Stock it has major problems. But modded it really shows its potential and is a lot more fun to play.

Ive heard there is going to be a AoP2 though, is that true?
 
Yes. AoP 2 is due out 1st Quarter 09. Tentative release date is Jan 31. Looking quite awesome. I've got the original russian version now, and even though I don't speak a speck of russian, its playable. Its pretty damned fun too.

Yes we are Pieter. With the announcement of the publisher came the official western name for the game, which is 'Age of Pirates II - City of Abandoned Ships'.

My ass is more playable than AoP1 from what I've heard of that bugfest. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
 
If you get the SuperMod from the start, and throw in some add-on ships from here, it's actually not that bad of a game. Runs better than stock and modded PoTC, too. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
 
It's true, but I don't know why. I can turn all the settings up to max, and it still runs better. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> Must be something to do with my computer - possibly its age. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> It gets crankier every day. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blah:" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

I know that the line of Akella's and Seaward's games is like a shuffle, not like a line =)
The SLiB mod is a modification of POTC game, not AOP. It's free for download and other, but with crypted sources =) By the way, "Lugger VML" from Build mod was named "VML" cuz it from SLiB (Возвращение морской легенды - Vozvraschenie Morskoy Legendy - Sea Legend is Back) <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

About buying AOP... I think it is unwise. Without mods that game is non playable piece of .... something bad =)
 
Correct. SoFS is for AoP and SLiB for PotC. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
