Playin' as a lass: Can lasses get married in Build 13?

Header says it all. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> I'm playin' as a gal & I was wondering if there'll be boys out there whom she can marry. (I love the daughters, so I was thinking that the lasses need some hunks to....seduce. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" /> )

If it isn't included in the Build, would it be a good idea? What do ya think, mates? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
 
well, i had suggested it before, but it was turned out because gay or lesbian marriages where unheard of in those days. it would be a good idea for the ladies to marry a man, though. however, that would require quite a bit of programming, such as quite a few sex checks, new dialogue for the governors, and then it still has to work right. the modders have a lot of bug fixing on their hands lately, so i don't think that it would be happening anytime soon.

did you notice that the female characters are faster and start with two extra skill points?

by the way: clair larrouse is now a female pirate captain. although she IS short. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> i let her join my fleet. now she has the souvereign of the seas, and i the black pearl. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> we make a rather good team. she helped me a lot with capturing greenford. if you hadn't met her yet, she's in the isla muelle tavern. you can go looting with her if she thinks you're a worthy companion.

I've been thinking (Again!): Maybe when there's time the wonderful modders could mod a Romance Mod (Which you can only play as a lass) for the gals? Like a lovestory with lotsa drama & Romance? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />
 
hmm...you could try the help the lady quest. that comes pretty close. start it by talking to orable caron in falaise de fleur. he should be standing somewhere near the head port house. after talking to him a few times, he should inform you about fred bob. if you help fred bob, he will give you a letter which you have to give to the lady in the isla muelle church. the quest isn't finished entirely though, as there is supposed to be a letter at QC after you finished the quest, but there isn't yet. this is also noted in your quest book.

well, CatalinaThePirate was supposed to finish it, but she's been absent for quite some time. it's her quest.

I hope this is not against the rules but........couldn't someone complete the quest for her? Just as a momentary solution?
 
well, i think that someone whould ask what her idea was for the quest. i think that the quest could indeed be finished with her permission. however, you can easily finish the finished part of the quest without any problems. the letter at QC is more like a quest that can be started by finishing that one than being the rest of the quest.
 
Reply I wrote a couple of days ago:

The first part of the quest is finished and works completely properly. The letter was just meant as a starting point for a sequel quest. That sequel was never made though. Somebody could do it, of course, but that requires somebody to do it. At the moment there are some people working on quests (Bartolomeu o Portugues, Jack Rackham and Petros), but they're all working on their own quests. Making a quest is quite time-consuming, so not many people actually do it.

Gals CAN marry, but they'll marry gals. This is because there are no sex checks at all. Also: You can change your sex in mid-game by selecting an outfit of a different sex (and changing your name). So even if you'd play as gal and marry a guy, it will still be odd if you change to a guy in mid-game. In any case: It would be nice to do some improving here, but we have very few modders here at the moment who are all working on bugfixing and/or doing their own mods.

We haven't seen Catalina here for a long time now. Over a year I think. I hope she'll return, but I don't really count on it. In the meantime we can enjoy the first completed part of the quest, along withthe other quests the other people are making.
