Please help me

I just got SMP yesterday, and I have a problem. Every few seconds after I start sailing, the game shuts itself down. Can anyone help?

Have you updated your DX with the once that came with pirates!?

and what is DX. I'm not that much of a computer expert.

Sorry, DX = Direct X its a driver set for windows graphics Pirates! uses the latest version of DX and you may have problems if you are not usiing it, its 9.0c from memory

The crashing got fixed, however now the sneaking and sword fighting moves much slower. The sailing's better though.
