Porting to Modded Xbox

First of all, I'm not asking if anyone has done it or even attempted it.
I think it could be been done. The Xbox version uses the same guts as the PC version. The only files that would need to be converted are the videos (wmv > xmv) and the executable (exe > xbe). As for the videos, the game comes with a converter. So the only real hurdle would be the executable. I would like to try my hand at porting it. So, who do I need to talk to about getting the source code for engine.exe?
If successful, I would definitely contribute my work to this project.

Thanks

The only modification to the game's ENGINE.exe file that we have made for the mod is replacing the icon and image file.
The original game's ENGINE.xbe (I imagine that's what it's called) should work fine combined with the rest of the Build mod.
Provided you actually CAN get that to work on the Xbox.
As much as we would want to, nobody here has the source of the ENGINE.exe. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

Thanks for the info and the quick reply.
Knowing that the engine file has remained unmodded should make the porting process a lot easier.

For anyone that may be paying attention to this...

Used files primary from PC version of game mixed with the xbox versions .xbe and xengine.ini. Was able to load game and play within Oxbay. A few sounds didn't work, but the concept was still proven. Game crashed when trying to go to the port.
Ran a file comparison between PC and Xbox version files; I was very happy to see that most of the files were practically identical. The textures were higher quality, but the same. Sounds and music are the same. Most other files have only have trivial differences from Xbox to PC: spelling and grammer correction <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> , added info for PC well maintaining the Xbox info.
By the way, the game looks so much better with the higher quality textures and still runs smoothly.

Spent a few hours sifting through the difference between versions and trying to figure out what is causing the crashes.
I got the game to load and run at all types of locations. Looks like it was crashing when going to the port because of the weather and/or water. Haven't yet narrowed it down to to exactly which files/code are the issue, but definitely should know pretty soon.
Once that is done, I plan to try to get build 13 working using the PC version as the base. If that works I'll see what I can do about putting build 13 on top of the Xbox version. I'm pretty confident it will all work.
Assume build 13 works out, I do plan one working on build 14.

Stay tuned for more updates.

Sounds interesting. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
