Well FLS has finally announced the fact that you can build your own ships for PotBS. The process is the same as for PotC, with more details. FLS wants the models in maya mb or ma formats. I know there are lots of talented folks here into moding so here is a big chance.

I doubt the Constitution or Victory since the developers have said they want to stay as close to 1720 as possible.

There is a lot of excitement in the fls forums about it and the devs have promised some guidelines soon. (whatever that means <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" /> ) Hopefully we will have more official news in a week or two.
 
I WISH we had more shipbuilders here; the modelers we have here are mainly working on characters and places for PotC, at the moment. We USED to have more modelers here, and some shipbuilders, but they have migrated away to other projects...

This "build your own" ship is a great addition to this game, tho. Really looking forward to seeing what comes of it! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />
 
Well thats a shame. I was hanging out here about a year and a half ago and thought there were several people working on getting ships in. I always wondered what happened since I stopped following the PotC modding.
Such a shame...

Don't count on it.I had a whole list of ships to build, the Privateer Lynx and Dark Prince, HMS Pelican, HMS Alalanta.And The Surprise with a full Stern, They capped it off to ships around 1710 to 1740 and they claim it was for balance.because of the 74s and bigger ,I have no idea what they are talking about but there are still big ass Ships of the line In game. with same amount of guns.they scrapped all the ships we saw that got us intrested, this is not the game some us recall being designed around Nelsons era.And to be honest I dont like these new ones.I have alot of bones to pick with the direction of where this game is headed,And the new fans that came out of the wood work and think they are experts on everything to sailing life to building ships, they need to get a life!!! and none have followed the game since day one,that would been the sealords and pirates ahoy.Yes since day one.As I said I have bones to pick.I wont air it out here.Yes its a mmorpg I understand that but half these idiots just finished up playing Star Wars Galaxies and are looking for a new game.

I think anyone, who plays a mmorpg needs to get a life, but that's just me <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
Seriously, I can play PC games maybe an hour each day, no more than that and perhaps a little more on weekends every now and then, but how far can you go with that in a mmorpg?
