Ever played the board game "Life"?

Looks fun. $50 isn't bad for a game with that much art detail, with a metal container, and a lot of good work in printing. Besides, you spend $50 on any PC game that we buy.

I have spent time playing it (and variants of it including a Chinese one that had proverbs and all sorts of other neat stuff) - it's quite absorbing, really... And darn addicting, as Cat says. You can try for static systems, or--darnint, forgot the word--you know, dynamic equilibrium, or whatever the correct term is.
It's a way of not really simulating life, but of treating life as an algorithm and seeing what you can get.
(It's probably one of the most ported programs in existence...)
