POTC : legend of Jack Sparrow

it looks like usual RPG with multiplayer but where the hell are ships...

if there isn't quest to steal a ship then is worthless arrr
 
A ham-handed port of a console game to the PC. Jack Sparrow in Super Mario World. Avoid this dog at all costs, mates. It was obvious that Johnny was tossing his lines off out of context. It's good for a giggle, but not what we've come to expect as an avenue for our pyratical lusts.

These game developers haven't understood what we really want. A virtual portal to experience the "Sweet Trade" as one would realistically expect it to be; harsh, unrelenting, and desperate. If it takes me two days to chase down a prey, so be it! If I need to make a desperate choice between my crew and a burning slaver full of human cargo, so be it. Throw these choices at me, game designers! Make me make the decisions that torment men's souls. Make me make the choices of a <i>leader</i>. Test my mettle as a true <i>pyrate</i>. And I promise you, I'll pay dear money to be put in that position. I <i>am</i> a pyrate, and I will willingly open myself to such situations.

Put me there. <i>I dare you.</i>
 
I agree with you Jack, bought this game this week for PC, it smells of bilgewater and brine. The controls are horrible and most of the "tips" the game gives you tell you to push your 'left thumbstick' and what not so apparently what time they did spend porting it over was minimal and done very sloppily. They should all be swabbin' the decks for that. Also, no ships whatsoever, what's a pirate game without ships? It's just a bloomin' 3rd person swordfighting game and not a very good one at that. Aaargh to the lot of 'em!
 
I can't imagine playing this <i>thing</i> without my joystick. REAL bad port cuz like Onimusha3 for PC has also a not so good port, but please atlest the game doesn't lag when it has to load more objects...

PS. For those who are thinking of buying Devil May Cry3 PC this september, don't bother using a joystick to play it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

Bought mine today and it wont even run on my pc!!!!!! Heck i have triple the requirement for game play am taking mine back asap!!!! Another title with bad support. lol, it's pretty sad though reading through the reviews I would be holding high expectations.......presuming you get it to run of course <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Had a quick play so far.

It's very console'ish, like all the settins screend are like there in 320x200 resolution

You cannot remap the keyboard keys and during the game it makes references to using a joystick/pad.

Voice acting is so-so, Jack Sparrow is good, but, the orlando bloom char sounds like a real punce.

Graphics wise it's so so, nothing special nothing to bad.
 
Toyed with the idear O' buy'n this game,however keep'n in mind this is a Disney production. I though better of it.Don't think ye will see any sea battles in this game,it's a piratical landlubbers game me thinks <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
 
I been playing the game on PC. Ummm not all that good to be fair. Trying to use the keyborad and mouse not easy as you got to also use num pad a lot, wasd with other button's and mouse. Tryed to change the key's as you get in to game the key's you change go back to defult. Game keep's going to Camera mod and I can't turn it off so I then can not face about, you then have to move left, right, forward and back but all way's backward. Damm silly.
Someone said on another forum this game was made for playstation 2 then for pc where you use a joypad.
Also you can's save the game like in POTC you have save point's in game at end of each part. If you die you have to go back to start of the part your on.
The game more like Quake type game. Screenshot's look's like it was made on Quake 2 engine.
I look at the Configuration Settings, looks more like a PS2 setting's then PC. Just to show you what I mean.

I tryed to kill the big boss useing jack and could not kill him so used Will with his axe attack and that did it. You can switch between Jack, Will or Elizabeth in game.
If one could sort the key's out and turn off the Camera then game might be more ok.
As a Quake type game it look's not to bad but a lot need's to be sorted 1st.
As for is it like POTC then nope not so far.
