Hai there.
Im looking for information about editing quests_reaction.c file, to enable playing after finishing main quest. I Googled for it, and found some info, that directed me to INSTALLDIR\Program\Quests\quests_reaction.c file, but Im not pretty sure what to change there. Can someone give me any tip? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Other things I'm interested in:
1. disabling mummies and skeletons at random encounters.
2. making Black Pearl as my vessel after I defeat it (if its possible after I sink it).
3. colony capturing - if its possible on original version, if not if its possible to enable it without making bigger modifications.

P.S. I have played build mods, and atm I'm interested in playing original game with small modifications. I kinda didnt like that my game crashes from time to time, and data about Black Pearl seems to be gone too.

~Ducttape.

you could try making the black pearl boardable (ships.init i think, but my advice is as good as nothing), but i'm not sure if the option was there before the changes to the code. the only thing i know about being able to play on after finishing the main quest was that it was a fairly simple change. that's all i got.

I already made game playable after completing main quest.
Now I'm interested in colony capturing, skeletons/mummies and Black Pearl.

If it is the best stable gameplay version you want, try Build 12.1: <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?autocom=downloads&showfile=38" target="_blank">http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?au...amp;showfile=38</a>
It contains the "continue play after main quest" mod, as well as a lot of major improvements over the stock game.
Unless you really <i>do not want</i> any additional features, Build 12.1 is a definite must-have; it's at least as stable as the original game, maybe even more.
Build 13 Final should be pretty stable too though, especially with the <a href="http://piratesahoy.net/build/midnight_fullcargohold_ctdfix_b13.zip" target="_blank">Midnight Full Cargo Hold CTD Fix</a> applied.

Build 13 Final contains the capturable Black Pearl modification. You can add this functionality in earlier game versions though.
You'll need to add a line similar to <i>Character_SetAbordageEnable(characterFromID("Barbossa"), true);</i> at the appropriate place in the code.
However, I'm not particularly familiar anymore with pre-Build 14 Alpha game versions, so I can't tell you exactly where.

Colony Capture is a Build 14 Alpha feature that hasn't properly been finished yet. Putting this in the stock game would be unrealistic to say the least.
The original game definitly did NOT allow for colony capturing. I can assure you that the mods don't REMOVE good content. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/no.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":no" border="0" alt="no.gif" />

Disabeling skeletons and mummies is something I have done about a month ago in a Build 14 Alpha version.
It's not actually hard, but I haven't got a clue how that should be done in the stock game.

The latest Build 14 Alpha versions are pretty playable, but not finished and not quite stable.
However, the incredible wealth of new material does go a long way to making up for that. And with each new patch, stability does improve.
But if you want a REALLY stable game version, it's best to use Build 12.1 or Build 13 Final + Fix.

What do you mean by "data about Black Pearl seems to be gone"?

Hi. Thanks for info, will get it done.

"data about Black Pearl seems to be gone" means that running that .bat file needed to set up Alfa9.5, show lots of "Not Found" messages when talking about Black Pearl.

When RunMe.bat shows error messages, usually it is because it's trying to remove files that are already not there
or tries to move files that are already where they should be. If you follow the <a href="http://wiki.piratesahoy.net/index.php/Instalations" target="_blank">installation instructions</a>, you have nothing to worry about.

Oh, I didnt know that. Will use newest mod then. Have to admit, that I'm damn impatient and might delete the game after few crashes <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Just get up Alpha 9.5 Patch 1. Any pointers about places I should avoid if I dont like to get my game crashed? Or it happens absolutely randomly?

P.S. Sorry about doubleposting.

If you install the fixes for the Jack Sparrow storyline you can play it all the way through (with no crashes that I know about <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />) As for standard (New Horizons) I'm not really sure. But as Pieter said it is pretty stable now

PS: fixes located for Jack Sparrow here: <a href="http://www.moddb.com/mods/new-horizons/downloads/legend-of-jack-sparrow-fixes" target="_blank">http://www.moddb.com/mods/new-horizons/dow...k-sparrow-fixes</a>

I know there's some bugs you can run into, but most crashes/freezes I've been encountering appear completely random.
Post here if you run into a consistant problem and we'll see if we can do something about it.

Build 14 installation (with all last fixes)
<a href="http://wiki.piratesahoy.net/index.php/Instalations#Build_14" target="_blank">http://wiki.piratesahoy.net/index.php/Instalations#Build_14</a>

Build 13 installation (with all fixes I know)
<a href="http://wiki.piratesahoy.net/index.php/Instalations#Build_13" target="_blank">http://wiki.piratesahoy.net/index.php/Instalations#Build_13</a>

I'm adding that build 12 stuff to wiki now...

Any ideas why is my PotC almost 7GBs on my HDD? I installed Alpha9.5 patch1 and its working fine. I'm simply interested - wtf?

Mine is 6.8 GB (with some backing up <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />)

There is alot of added models and other stuff that makes it bigger... It is worth it though <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

7 GB is indeed the size of the installed modpack. We added rather a lot. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

That means u have added like 200% of new content, right? Well, definitely have to check that out <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

P.S. I dont know if it counts as bug or smth, but A and D (sidestep) controls work kinda buggy - ur feet dont more (well, thats minor issue), and u can "walk" through locked doors, walls, pretty much everything. I know its me who choose to exploit or not to exploit it, but its still little bit annoying <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

We do know about that <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

We were trying to make a sidestep function but it never really worked and that is what we got <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" />

We should make a list of "famous weird issues that we just cannot fix".
Seriously, we get the sidestep and BuildingSet reports TOO often.

I agree, the one problem is: will people read about it?

Uhm... no they won't. In that case we should make a thread of standard-answers that we can copy-paste into our replies. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
