Problem with build 13 final

migck

Landlubber
I'm using build 13 updated right now. I installled it following the instructions carefully (build12.1 first, then pre13 and then 13 update, and always running RunMe.bat after each one). Now for some reasons, the bombs ammo for the ships have dissapeared. Is this supposed to happen? Do I have to change something in builsettings.h? Because I can see bombs ammo in the reload cannons menu, but I dont have any and its impossible to find in stores nor in boarded ships. I will appreciate any advice.

oh boy, i've heard this question tons of times. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> steal some from the fort by entering from the landside. they where removed to fix historic accuracy.

Wow, really? You see I also thought it was a bit overpowered ammo, had to be way more difficult to find, you say you can find them in forts and then shoot them as normally?

yes. bewarned: stealing them from the omma supplier of the fort might give more trouble than you'd like. come there well-prepared, preferably with at least battle-armour. however, the loot is more than worth it. you'll wander out with a stash you wouldn't believe it! if you survive, that is.

Good, thanks for the advice. And I was wondering, does it makes things easier to buy the nation's soldier uniform at the tailors to infiltrate in the fort?

nope. however, a letter of marque might help. besides that, that could be a good idea. try trhowing it in the thinktank or whatever you'd want to call it. it's generally known as the mod ideas section.

There is a way for getting into a fort without being attacked : keep your sword in your hand. Nobody can talk to you when you are in battle mode, and the alarm event is triggered by dialog. But if you want bombs, you'll have to talk to a civilian - be very carefull for that, chose the best time to sheathe your sword and address him : when he'll be far from the soldiers and you close to a door, or in a place in which you can handle the soldiers one-by-one.

Having the soldier uniform wouldn't change a thing, but you can wear it to make the whole thing funnier for you.

Having a Letter of Marque also does no good in this case. Even privateers aren't allowed in the forts. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Please note that this whole trick only works with the forts that can be accessed from the landside. There's one in Oxbay and Greenford and on some of the new islands, but most islands don't have such a fort (yet?).

i've rarely been caught. rather strange, really. but on the other hand, i'm just waiting for them to attack me so i can rake in a huge amount of loot. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" />
