problem with colony

How come when i press the f3 to land troops, and when its loaded theres none of my soldiers but im all alone i have as many soldiers i can get on my ships but none of them is helping me when i land troops in the fort?

am i doing any thing wrong?

sorry guys, but could you be a little more specific....it is hard to help when I dont really know what you are saying...

Im guessing at best there is a way to unload Soldiers ? right? You have to attack through a Fort is my understanding, hoping to clear that up as well. I attacked a colony without a Fort and nothing worked right.... All I did was lose Officers for no gain. (it was the Pirate Island/colony)
