Problem with paying people.

OK, I'm having trouble with paying people their money.

I talk to an officer, and ask about ship finances....

The officer tells me my crew costs say, 1000 a month, my officers say, 4000 a month, and that's a total of 5000 a month.... but that I owe the crew and officers 80,000.

OK, I'm rich. I sail around, and wait for payday. I click "Yes, pay the 80,000"

The 80,000 is deducted from my coffers.

I talk to an officer, and they tell me the exact same as the above.... and 30 days later they want another 80,000.

Now, I can make cash hand over fist, but that's not the point. I'm trying to follow some quests rather then dedicating myself to cashraising.... And I'm kind of devoloped in the game at this point. Is there a way to fix this problem? I don't want to fire all my officers...

EDIT: Oh, I'm useing build 13 final.
 
Did you change that SALARY_MULTIPLIER? Sounds to me like there's some sort of bug somewhere in the salary code. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

So...? Anyone playing Build 13 can confirm this? And could anyone check if it also applies to any of the Build 14 Alpha's?
 
I'm currently looking at the whole salary system, for both officers and crew. Can't confirm anything for the moment but will shortly post a new thread on it, when I'll find the time, because there are a lot of things here I don't quite like - and there might be big bugs. But I need to test things a little more.

Did you know that your leadership skill + the iron will capacity actually decrease in a drastic way the salary of your men & officers? With 10 in leadership and this capacity one man earns 5 gold coins a month. How many days (not to say hours...) could a sailor live in POTC at land with this?!? No wonder you can make that much money in game.
 
LOL. That's interesting to say the least. What you could do is to play Build 13 FULL for a while and see what you think of the salary system in there. I recall the salary system was rewritten/fixed/improved/modified by Jonathan Aldrigde in Build 13 Update 3, so it shouldn't yet be in Build 13 Full.

I might take a look at that too. Apparently that Jonathan Aldrigde improvement was to computate daily the amount of money you own to the crew. But I'm wondering what happen to the men who die before the end of the month. I have to check if you don't actually pay the deads with this system.

- dead crewman who flied in the air thanks to Petros code : Arr, capt'n, Davy Jones allowed me to came back to ask for my pay... Arr... I've worked 10 day onboard your ship...
- the captain : oh, no problem. Here's your pay dude. My hello to Davy Jones.
