Problem with repuation

Hey, I didn't want to start yet another "reputation problem" thread, so I'll drop my rather annoying little glitch in here, instead.

I just finished up one of the game's early missions, where you have to take the place of Amiel and "escort" the French barque from Falaise de Fleur to a watery grave (hehe). The problem is this: the moment I fired on the ship (the only way I could grapple and board it), my rep dropped from Neutral to Bloody Terror! Now I can't sell the barque I stole, sell the goods I've got, or make any transactions in Redmond at all, and the area outside the city doesn't seem to be producing any damsels in distress!

Should my rep really have dropped THAT far during a <i>required mission?</i> Seems like something that should be fixed, if you ask me. Otherwise though, I'm having an absolute blast with build 11. Amazing work all around!
 
Don't fire on his ship, sail with it all the way to Redmond and don't come out of the overhead map view until you are INSIDE the harbor (tricky but it can be done). <i>Sink</i> her? Psh, I wanted some cash for that effort! LOL. I got it worked out, though. I found a reload spot between the shore and the jungle outside of Redmond. It took almost a `half-hour` in `real-time`, but I got my rep back up to Neutral, so it's all good. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cheers.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="cheers.gif" />:
