Quest error with Build 13

I've installed POTC build 13 on january, 5th on a POTC build 12. It's was running fine (though some bugs remained). I've start modding to tune the game to my taste and to my son wishes. After an system crash not due to POTC, my game was corrupt. So i deinstalled it then reinstalled it and re-patch with build 13.

Alas, now when i start a new quest, it's seems that rys bloom never appers on "Redmond" (i've tried to restart so many time!) and when i speak to Zaid Murro on "Isla Muelle", the speech start then nothing happens. I can't change dialogs and i can't select speech options.

There is someone can help me? Trully, i made minor change into "officers.c" files like add skill point to some officers (Rys Bloom, of course!). I had give him more hit point at starting level, then nothing else. I change also in INTERFACE's folder, into the file "officer.c" the value for skill maximum point:

#define MAX_CHARACTER_SKILL 10
set to
#define MAX_CHARACTER_SKILL 20

I Notice i have made one change into this files, i have problems with my officers. putting the files back to normal and everything is ok.
I seem also then if i take level into oxbay at starting the game, it as influence if Rys is preseent or not.

I play always in swashbuckler mode!
When Rys is present, all problems are resolved by miracle!!! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

Now putting back that files, i have some unexpected craches cause by visual C++ Runtime Library. Runtime terminate in unusual way and do not make any log file...

I am newbie in modding files but i operate careffully and thsi runtime error it's a bit awesome for me! It's the first time the game crash like that! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
 
MAX_CHARACTER_SKILL 20
There was a reason why we didn't increase that in any of the modpacks. The reason being that this could cause major bugs and issues. I recommend you keep it at the default of 10.

Can you try to explain when you do and when you don't have those crashes? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Those crashes come after when i'am leaving the "Falaise de Fleur" Island. When i am set sail from the port, i can sail indefinitely in first & third person view, but when i go to the worlmap, the game quickly crash and i can't even do anything... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

I'm sailing with Clair Larrousse ship, the Cherie and i doing the "assassin quest". The game was working relatively fine before and without explanation the crashes are come up.

I'm in quest to kill Viera and i can't even sail to "Conceicao" <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

Is there anything you changed recently that might have caused this? Any modifications you made or mods you installed? What modpack version are you using anyway? Build 13 Update 2?
 
Yes! I change some files but you have right.
I had revert the value of the INTERFACE's "officer.c" file to normal (10) but i had forgotten <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" /> to reinitialize (F11) the file while in game.

PS: Hum! i will have another side effect from my change; same crash game when i go to the forger then i want to have a better quality "flamigera". Those crashes come only with those weapons.

PS2: (not Playstation 2) <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" /> how can make Nicholas Saber unavailable from NPC with mod packs? I dislike the idea that NPC fight with a Quest reward! I try to put rarity value to "0.00" but it seem that do nothing! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

PS3: Another question but on Topics! How to close a topic when i have full or no response?!
 
1: Uh? I have no idea why that happens, nor how to fix it. Perhaps you should do a 100% clean install, just to be sure.

2: I agree. I tried to do that in Build 13 Update 3 and Build 14 Alpha 6, I hope it worked. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

3) You can't close topics, only moderators and administrators can. There is no need to close a topic though. When there is no more response, it will just disappear into the registers of forgotten posts. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
