Question about bystanders

It seems that every bystander in the game uses the [merchant] sound scheme in this game.

Especially the ladies in front of the governors mansion in douwesen look kind of odd, when they bark: "Come, look around I have everything you need" or "French quality and service are yourse, monsiour."

I found out if I add some paths below the [merchant] part in \Pirates of the Caribbean\RESOURCE\INI\ALIASES\sound_alias.ini those bystanders use my added phrases. This sucks nevertheless, because I want to make a difference between female and male bystanders.

Does anyone know how to fix this annoying bug, which has been around since the beginning of the game?


Here my question in short:
How can I assign bystanders different voice shemes???

You can set character's voice type in the character init files (PROGRAM\Characters\init). I hope you'll be able to figure it out then. Otherwise, I don't really know. I know some fixing on this was planned, but it never happened.

If you manage to do it, could you please add the fixed files to me so I can add it into the Post Build 12 mods?
 
I found that stupid "French quality.." most annoying as well (also the permanent "Check and mate" during duels)

My solution was a rather crude one: I replaced the soundfiles themselves <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> with nice environment sounds

Thanks a lot for pointing us to a more elegant solution.
