Question about difficulty levels

I've been playing on corsair level so far, but its been getting boring. I've been running around with the xebec taking battleships and warships because no one will fight me in boarding battles anymore. My question is, at higher difficulty levels does the enemy fight more often? I mean comon, they outnumber me 3-1 and don't even try <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

If you mean that the enemies give up instead of trying to defend, you shouldn't pick such soft targets. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Merchant ships tend to give up a lot, patrols, military squadrons, and pirates will fight unless outnumbered really badly. I have yet to see a manowar surrended at all - even when it's down to 30 guys and I have 400 it still fights.

Now pirates do surrender to me all the time as well, same with patrols, I'll see what happens when I go after a military squadron.

It has to do with your authority too, i think.Maybe you got very high authority and the game makes the math too wrong when factoring that.I happens rather often for me too at only 4 authority.
