question about the 3 rank types

of there is the character personallity rank hero,dashing etc. i get that
and i get the rank like commander
i am having trouble understanding the one with freebooter and pirate and how to raise it.

To... change it so you start as a Pirate for example? or for incresing it, if you mean increasing it im not sure this is the right section of the forum. PotC gameplay would where you want to post these things in that case, anyway if that is the case, it will increase by you doing things like killing pirates and doing military quests afaik... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> .

If you mean to change it so you start as one, i dont know, i wouldent know those things, im working on learning how to make new textures, but besides that, my modding abilletys lies in other games.

I think the "Promising Pirate" or "Freebooter" is your notoriety. You need to sail around to a lot of different ports and do a lot of trading or dealing with the merchants and run the side quests - even deal with the governors - to have that raised.

<i>You have three types of ranks:</i>

There is your <b>notoriety</b> (or fame), as Catalina said, which you can view in the relations screen.

Then there's the <b>military rank</b>, which goes instead of your first name in every dialog. So, instead of Nathaniel, you get Commander.

The third is in the Character screen, under your name. (Hero, Dashing, Neutral, Matey, Rascal, etc.) That's your <b>"good/bad factor"</b>
