Why did Captain Barbosa and his Crew needed the Blood of William Turner Senior or Junior? What was so special about his Will's Father. Was his Father also cursed?
And why did Jack cut himself in the hand before throwing the Medalion to Will?
 
Alright mate, Will's father was cursed. And Capt Barbossa and his crew needed his blood becoz everyone who pick up a medalion must put his blood for break the curse. Jack cut himself for the same reason : he take a piece of the treasure directly in the chest.

So the Crew and Captain Barbosa must have allready "donated" their Blood before and only the Blood of Will's Father (or Will) was missing.

Yeah, that bothered me too.. surely after all these years he would have been able to free himself and walk towards land...
 
I guess his body was crushed by the pressure! I doubt even cursed Pirates can survive this!

Maybe Bootstrap did free himself and get to land if he was cursed as well. If there's two more movies coming out, its a definate possibility.

Another thought I had was that this whole time bootstrap was stuck underwater trying to escape, and then the son goes along and with the captain removes the curse from the pirates so they can defeat them...

I wonder how long it took for him to realize he'd just killed his father.. heh

Another thing that bothered me was when they first got Ms. Swan on board and she threatened to toss the coin over the side, why would that bother the pirates since they can walk on the bottom of the ocean and just pick it back up?
 
Maybe because it was dark down there and, since I believe they were already sailing at the time, it would be tough for them to get back aboard.

I think the reason the pirates didn't want her to drop the coin, was that if she did drop it, then it would drop the bottom of the bay, were there are plenty of rocks and places were it can get lost and hidden. Even today, it is very hard for people trying to find shipwrecks to find exact things. The other two reasons I can think of is that the Pirates were lazy and didn't want to waist the time, or it was just a script error. There was one other script error that you can see in the deleted scenes of the DVD.
Also, the possibility that Bootstrap was able to escape is possible, and might show up in a sequal. It would be a good way to keep William Turner (Junior) in the story. But, it all depends on were he was dropped. After watching the movie a dozen times, I can pretty much understand the limitations of this curse. If he was dropped in a deep enough area, he would be crushed. Being alive and being so low in the dark by yourself probably seemed like hell. If you got away, it would probably make you want to be more of a christian.
 
here's another thing that bothered me. Capt. Barbossa says that he can't feel anything like the salt of the sea spray and all that, but right before he tosses Elizabeth into the ocean he gets her dress back and says "Ahhh, still warm". Damn writers can't get anything right.

I got it on dvd and saw it a few days ago - i was slightly disapointed with the ending, but then it was a disney movie so all the mushy and convenient ending should have been expected.
William should definately have been hung for piracy and Ms.Swan should have been forced to marry the 'evil' english officer <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":c" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />

still as an upside i also got 'mutiny on the bounty' (the mel gibson, anthony hopkins one), which is more up my street, er i mean more up my main sail. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" />
