Questions from a noob

New into the beautiful world of PotC, I' ve some questions for the old sea-wolf out there:
After the tutorial, when I sail for the first time, all the ship in the port and the fortress (all portuguese) fire at me, destroying my poor ship: what's wrong? In the relations screen i'm neutral towards them

EDIT: the flag is the french one, so it seems that I have only to run, fast <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Use flag of portuguese then. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

that's simple to do. you can select your flag in the relations/international affairs menu. there should be a button at the bottom of the screen. keep an eye out for who's in war with who though. one thing that mostly wroks is landing at a secluded beach and walk to the town, but you risk getting lost on some of the big islands, and you of course need to get out of there without discovering that your ship is surrounded by enemy ships when you leave. (which shouldn't be that much of a problem, but you should always aim for getting out intact)

Raising a fake flag is the key to getting out unscathed. However, I thought that in the tutorial you were supposed to leave safely anyway. Not sure what happened there. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

ah, the tutorial was changed, wasn't it? i recall a lot of problems being with that, although i never really had any. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

I used to have that probem in Pre Build 13, but not anymore since Build 13.
