Quitting the game

OK.. running with Vista, ect ect.. game runs brilliantly but am getting frequent 'lockup' when quitting the game. Unable to do anything at all, waited an age but no mouse, or keyboard functionality, plus theres a strange brown graphical residue left over on my desktop when this happens... any thoughts? I dont mind the strangeness, but having to turn pc off and back on again is not desirable.

Have you tried minimizing the window and then just closing it? It might just work.

When the game is running and you want to quit: Save the game, then press Alt + F4. That'll close the game down instantly and should work properly. I hope. I personally don't experience anything like that on Vista.

Thanks Pieter, I didnt try the old alt f4 method, because each time I wanted to quit, either I'd forgotten about the last time it locked up or was optimistic it would close down normally.
