We've been using this Random Talk thread for a sort-of text-based RPG. But since it IS the "Random Talk" thread, it can be used for <i>anything</i>.

As for the site: We haven't heard from the admins, Keith and William, for a long time now. Last time they were seen on the forum at all was over half a year ago. Lazarus found out that the piratesahoy.com domain expires begin February and the piratesahoy.net expires a little while later. So the website will expire in not too long and there is no word from the admins on whether or not the domain will be renewed.
